Big Law Tax: Able to do both transnational and litigation work?

In a Big Law tax group, is an associate able to be involved in both the litigation and transnational side of tax, or does one have to choose when they join?

Depends on the firm but typically no.

You are prob thinking transfer pricing. You would be dealing with the IRS exlucively on those matters. A fairly limited group of firms deal in tp so your choice in firms would be limited.
