NYC Gyms for SA
Anyone know of weightlifting (i.e. plenty of squat racks) gyms in Manhattan that offer month to month memberships? All the serious looking gyms I've been researching have a 12 month commitment. Picture Related. Thanks!

This doesn't answer your question directly, but my firm offered us a couple of gym options on our first day. They had special rates for the firm's summers, but I can't remember if you could do it month by month or if you had to sign up for 10 weeks or whatever.

I'm pretty sure NYSC has some overpriced month to month plan. Source: did this at a Queens NYSC location for some time

Every NYC commercial gym will have at least 1-2 squat racks. In my experience, at places like NYSC, nobody really uses them.

Blink Fitness is pretty cheap and does a month-to-month, but you get hit with like a $40 fee when you decide to stop going. Still worth it for 3 months considering it's like $20 per month.
And yeah, if you are at a larger firm, they will have deals for nearby gyms + equinox, but I didn't do one so idk if they are month-to-month. If you know someone in recruiting, you could just shoot them an e-mail.

Great thanks errybody. I was considering just lugging weights and a barbell to a local park and do power cleans. But it's good to know it's in the realm of possibilities to get a subsidized membership somewhere.

From what I can tell during my time in Manhattan last summer. No. It's Snap City.Po$eidon wrote:Do they even lift, bro?Pomeranian wrote:Every NYC commercial gym will have at least 1-2 squat racks. In my experience, at places like NYSC, nobody really uses them.

I think Anytime Fitness does month to month too. It might vary by location though.

Crunch does a summer special (like 250 for 3.5 months or something) and has at least a couple at each place

If you don't mind spending extra, Crossfit Solace and Crossfit NYC has a lot of regs in their morning and Saturday classes who are biglaw associates and parners.

NY health and racquet club, $120/month and no signup fee if you sign up by tomorrow.

For that price, there better be like 10 squat racks.Petrichor wrote:NY health and racquet club, $120/month and no signup fee if you sign up by tomorrow.
