Who's #1 in your section/class?

Post by alpinespring » Sun Mar 19, 2017 1:06 pm

Totally into Malcom Gladwell and the whole 10,000-hour mastery rule thing these days and it got me thinking -- how would you describe the #1 in your section or class? Like... if Gladwell were to profile them like he did Watchell lawyers, what details would stick out to him?

I'm curious if there's a "general" pattern (elite undergrad, early 20s, upper-middle clasd background) in who reaches the very top in law schools.

Or... is it totally unpredictable who will actually rank #1?

Thanks in advance!

Yeah, none of that applies. Plus, Gladwell profiled the Wachtell founders, not the associates who have to earn top grades (and give up any hope of a life outside the office) to now earn a spot at that firm.

I have no idea, but I know some of the people in law review and they are ridiculous grinders. The type of people who will probably make partner at law firms.

Is that 10,000 billable hours?
