What is the Information Society Project like?
Can you get involved easily as 1L?

And anyone experience on the Law and Technology Journal? Can you get involved as 1L? What to expect?

You can become an ISP student fellow as soon as you set foot on campus. It's basically a series of events and talks--not really a formal center. You can be as involved with it as you like, though some opportunities are restricted to graduates and LLM/JSD/PhD students. Within ISP, there are several student groups like the Visual Law Project (which makes documentaries about legal issues) and JWYL (a group of aspiring journalists and writers). There's also MFIA (the media law clinic) and PSRJ (a group focusing on reproductive justice litigation).

re: YJoLT You can get involved in journals as a 1L, though I think there is an hour limit your first semester. Depending on your level of involvement your 1L year, you can take a leadership position beginning your 2L year. It will be all cite-checking at first, with some opportunities to read and comment on scholarship.
