Announcing the launch of the TLS wiki

Post by forumadmin » Fri Feb 14, 2014 9:55 pm

We are pleased to be able to announce the launch of the TLS wiki. One goal of the TLS wiki is to enable the TLS community to update and improve upon the law school profiles.

To create your TLS wiki account you visit http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/wiki.php to get your authorization code which you need to create your TLS wiki account.

We hope the TLS wiki helps TLS become an even more useful resource.

Very cool, great idea. I'm making my TLS wiki account now, so I can procrastinate even more than just posting on the TLS forums.

By default, the wiki software has a "User page" for each user that is linked to from various other pages in the wiki similar to how the forum software has a profile page for each user. For example, your TLS wiki user page is http://www.top-law-schools.com/wiki/User:Patogordo and your TLS forum profile page is http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/m ... e&u=121795. So you already have your own wiki page just by creating a TLS wiki account :)

The place where I downloaded the wiki software offers some suggestions on how a wiki user page might be used.
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:User_page

One thing to keep in mind is that even though the TLS wiki uses the same software as Wikipedia, we don't necessarily have the same guidelines and policies as Wikipedia. For example, we use the same forum software as other sites, but over time the forum seems to have established its own set of guidelines that are different from other sites using the same forum software. The documentation on sites like Wikipedia and MediaWiki can be helpful, especially since we haven't yet figured out how we want to use things like wiki user pages, but using the same open source software doesn't force us to be like Wikipedia.
