Checking in. Cold feet.
If you've been reading TLS, it's hard to be excited about law school period.

Idk I've been super excited and loving it, however I sound a little more social than you and I'm enjoying new friends, not school.

I have really mixed feelings. I am excited. I'm just not sure if I'm ready for it to start. I think dread would be a strong word for my feelings, but I do have this anxious sense of running out of time. I have a lot of books that I want to read before law school, because I'm sure law school is going to be even worse than college was for reading for fun. I also have a lot of friends in the area I want to see and ideally, I wish I could have had time to fly home one more time before school starts. Orientation is in a week and two days. Realistically do I have time to take care of and do everything that I want to do before my first assignments roll in? No, I don't. Is that devastating? No, it isn't. But it makes me kind of sad. I know that the world isn't going to end once I roll in for orientation, but I also know that I'm going to have far less free time once school gets started.

Additionally, I'm having a little bit of a hard time getting excited about my school -- which is a really good school and from my visits I like it a lot! My problem is just that I don't have any ties to the school or know anything about the school culture or history. I'm from South Carolina and while most of my friends and family have heard of Boston College, pretty much all anyone knows about it is that it plays Clemson in football. I'm sure excitement will replace my trepidation once I have more familiarity with the school, but for now that Southern not-liking-new-things quality has me in a chokehold.

Which was a long-winded way of sort of answering your question!
I think you nailed my feelings on it: really excited, just really not sure if I'm ready for it.

I've been spending every spare moment working my way through the lesiure reading I still have on my Kindle...and your post captures how I feel quite precisely. Anxious, excited, and terrified all at once.

Coming from STEM, law school is almost as much an end in and of itself for me as it is a means to an end. For that, I'm somewhat excited. However, I'm also simultaneously pissing my pants for fear of the unknown.

And here I was assuming that excitement and fear would be mutually exclusive...
