August.
I need all the $$ I can get. Unfortunately, I can't mentally "check out" as it would be extremely apparent in my line of work. (legal collections)
So I'll need to find a healthy balance and coast by until it's time to give my 2 weeks.

Also cannot mentally check out since I'm an engineer and a public employee so be thankful we take our jobs seriously to the end. I've worked. For the same agency for over six years and now they decide to put me in for a promotion and raise. I will be working hard up until the last moment 1: because I enjoy the work I do and the meaning it has protecting the environment 2: I hope my agency hires me once I earn my JD.
I have a couple weeks vacation leave saved but I will work until the bitter end to cash out those days to buy a sweet Mac Pro. It helps I don't need to move to be close to my school.
Insurance is mega important to me; without the ACA I don't know if I would have taken the risk of leaving work as a government engineer.

Can't wait!
End of June (thank you snow for that extremely late last day of school).
Quite excited as well!

8 WE here, contemplating the same. Don't want to go to Graveyards in June so thinking about pulling plug at end of May, though the extra month of $ would be nice... I think I'm going to work until 4th of July tops

Re: When are you quitting your full-time job for school?
4 years WE
Quitting probably first week of August
I wanna quit earlier but I know how bad Ill want that money and I look at it like every week extra of work I can eek out is more money that I otherwise won't have for the next 3 years
Back on health ins, can we do cobra through LS or obamacare? Cause most the law schools insurances are so expensive

I believe you can. When you look at the student budget for most places, the asterisk by health insurance says something like "can be waived with proof of other insurance." Maybe send each place an email to be sure, first.

Re: When are you quitting your full-time job for school?
May 1st is my last day, but I start school at the end of May. It'll also mark 1 year at my current job but I had another year of WE.
Cannot wait. My replacement started Tuesday and I'm really trying to at least pretend to care for his first week. The fact that I'm on TLS at 10:00 am probably says a lot about how well that's going.

4 years of WE, I'm leaving Aug 1. I won't be moving far, so it will be okay. Plus to save money I will try to sublet this summer. I use so much of my work time looking at stuff like this so I'm really ready to just move on.

4 years work experience, leaving July 1. So checked out. My boss is my BFFL so she doesn't care. I'm so bored.

2.5 years WE, and I'm peacing out on June 27. I may have labeled it as a holiday on my calendars. Thought about working up until August, but decided I needed time to regain my sanity before I lose it all over again. In the interim period, I'll be back on my parents' health insurance and working part time for my dad in his firm.

May/June.
Haven't let my employer know my plans yet. Although I printed out my ASD information, twice by mistake. Left one page on the printer and my manager (i think?) found it and put it on my desk. Made for quite a weird Monday morning.

May 30th can't come soon enough. Hopefully I'll find some decent part-time work to keep me afloat.

Woops. I've tried to cover my tracks as best as I can but I think some people have seen me abruptly minimize websites...I don't think they've caught on though since I still participate in meetings and am making policies for the "long haul"CU44BMD wrote:May/June.

I'm not sure, I think I'm going to load up on care before I leave to chance it between end of employment and LS. COBRA is about 1200 a month for me if I take it, that's a lot of lettuce...ohpobrecito wrote:What are people doing for health insurance in the interim?

August for me, probably a week before school starts. I need to save up as much money as I can and I need my insurance until the bitter end. Moving back in with moms in June.

Done 4/4. Getting all my checkups and stuff done by the end of April when I still have insurance so I can move back home and relax for a few months.

6 years WE and I am still trying to decide when to quit. I'd like to go on a couple trips with my SO before the fall, so I am thinking May...not sure what that'll look like on a resume.

Leaving in July, the month before school. My boss asked me to stay that long and I don't have the heart to say no.

Been working at the same firm for about 3.5 years. I want to quit now and enjoy the summer, but I will probably do the smart thing and wait till July 30. I have been mentally checked out since I got accepted tho, majority of my work time has been going toward youtube haha.

Re: When are you quitting your full-time job for school?
If I thought I would be okay money wise I would quit today. I think I'm going to work through the end of July, but I take at least one Friday off per month to do vacations for long weekends, or just to play golf with my granddad.
Also I make shit money at my job, but can't do anything about it now
