When are you quitting your full-time job for school?
I'm curious when everyone is planning to quit. Also, I'm curious how this scales with the # of years of WE.
I'll go first:
5 years WE. Leaving either June or July, but already mentally checked out since December.
Wished I could stay longer because I need all the money I can get, but it's probably not healthy.

I was planning on quitting in middle May, and then relax/travel for a couple of months before settling down in my new city.

Well, if I pick Michigan, it's coming up very, very soon. Otherwise, I plan on leaving at the end of July to give myself about a month.

I think my work plans to get my replacement in here by mid June, which is a good excuse to take some time off and relax/ travel/ visit family. I feel like I should be working longer, but then again, we have the rest of our lives for that and the stress involved. Probably going to get my Spanish back up to a professional level in the meantime.

July here, but I have checked out so hard. I almost feel bad for how little work I'm doing. Almost.

Probably June/July and totally agree with the this ...
edit: Also 3 years of work experience
I'm literally just looking for apartments, research COAs, and looking up things I want to do before I go to school. ALL.DAY. It's sad. hahaWill_McAvoy wrote:July here, but I have checked out so hard. I almost feel bad for how little work I'm doing. Almost.

Moving back in with parents at the end of March; quitting at the end of May.

Missed the poll, but I'm also "quitting" at the end of May. Not really quitting, because my office always hires a recent college grad for my position, and the switch between old and new always happens around the end of May.
I absolutely cannot wait for my summer off and definitely mentally checked out a while ago!

What sucks is that I have checked out during what is literally the busiest period of immigration law (H-1B cap season). I have two more months here that I need to survive, but it's getting harder and harder to care.

+1. Also, I've told my boss about my plan so he's avoiding to give me important tasks as well.Theopliske8711 wrote:What sucks is that I have checked out during what is literally the busiest period of immigration law (H-1B cap season). Mentally checked out when I got into UCLA in January. Will be quitting in June, but starting an internship with the DA's office (only a couple days a week). Do some light reading, relax as much as I can.

Re: When are you quitting your full-time job for school?
I have four years WE and I was planning to stay until the 1st of August but I am really wondering if I will make it. I am having such a hard time caring at all and I am starting to wonder if leaving sooner on good terms would be better than staying and slacking so hard. I work at a law firm so I really would prefer to not burn any bridges.

Last day of July. But my position is through AmeriCorps, so that was going to happen regardless.

I'm doing everything I need before hand (eyes, teeth, yearly) and then I think I will be fine for a month or two. I never go to the doctor really anywaysohpobrecito wrote:What are people doing for health insurance in the interim?
