Thanks man. Hopefully some relaxation now will make up for the lack of relaxation in the next few years

I already live with her and we've been dating for a few years so I know we can handle the stress. I don't expect it to be easy and neither does she but I want her to have a full commitment before I ask her to move with me when I go to school.

I'm a 2L now but in my 0L summer I rode my bicycle from Texas to Alaska. Pretty outrageous and fun. Ended like two days before law school started.

Noble, indeed. I'm w/ goldenboy. Make sure she can handle me basically ignoring her thru 1L so I know she can handle the first 2 20? years of my career.

It took 70 days, from June 1 to August 10 and then law school started August 12. So I had to fly from Alaska to Iowa the same night I finished (I'm from here/attend Iowa). We raised something like $315/320,000 for cancer research.

TBH, perhaps a good takeaway for you 0Ls, in every screening interview and callback, interviewers asked about the bike ride. In hindsight, it was helpful to have done something interesting 0L summer. My motivation for doing the ride WAS NOT remotely for jobs/interviews (my mom is a childhood cancer survivor). I [miraculously, because they are like unicorns] got a large firm 1L SA, and I have a 2L SA in Chicago (now gotta work and get that offer!).

I just found out today that I'll be working in entertainment at Disney World for Star Wars Weekend. So, that's a fun summer plan. :]

I will be working every week/day/hour until the very end to earn as much as possible. Then I am cashing out my saved vacation days for about $3k to pay for laptop and my state retirement that earned about 1% for $20k home down payment.

:-/ no fun, just work, then again I love my job and coworkers. :-)

I'm going with my SO and we have some money saved. We're driving to all of the US locations, so it's not as bad as it looks. We're paying 3k for our Europe tickets and probably another 1k in transportation costs after we're in Europe. I'm guessing we spend 8-10k. We're not exactly wealthy right now but we feel like this is the time to travel (young, recent (UG) grads, etc.).
