Drexel Law School C/O 2017 and C/O 2016

Post by Snowboarder1588 » Wed Mar 05, 2014 4:09 pm

Get in here Drexel people. I'm almost certain that I will be putting a deposit to join their 2 yr JD program in the next couple weeks. Looking forward to ASW this weekend. Who else will be there?

checking in! iI'm here...still not 100% but its looking good.

Here is my question. Is there a way I can see what I am getting offered in loans from the school? Ive noticed on other threads people were saying things about logging into their schools portal and seeing that but I don't remember getting any information like that from the school.,

I would say you can always double check with the school's Financial Aid office, but generally speaking the loan package you get from schools will be similar. Essentially you are allowed to take out as much as the entire COA if you need to. I hope that helps! Are you considering the 2 yr program or 3 yr program?

After going to the ASW i really want to do the 2 year but...that starts on May 12 and I graduate from my UG on May 10th. The turn around is too short for me. The good news is I heard I can take classes over the summer to lighten my load 3l year which will be good since they are into experiential learning and will have us doing coops and internships.

Yea you definitely want to take a break to rest before diving into law school. Are you currently in the Philly area or are you moving here for school?

Moving there from Virginia...currently online looking for apts as I type.
My main issue with moving there is not knowing what areas are ok to move to. Ive been looking on cl, and when I went to ASW last weekend alot of the students lived in university city or center city, but lately I haven't been having luck finding anything there. I guess ill just wait until they open up the Admitted Students fb page and take it from there.

It really depends on your price range and whether you are looking to roommate or not. Generally you want to stay within Center City, University City, also Northern Liberties and Old City are decent parts. Also, keep in mind that many places in University city open up as the school year ends, so you just have to keep it on your radar to ensure you are on top of it as things open up.

I actually stopped by and signed them at the admissions office, but I think it's hard for you to do that if you don't live locally lol. Contact them and see if they accept a fax/scan (whichever is easier for you). Otherwise nothing wrong with mailing it to them. The main thing they want to hold your spot is the deposit and you pay that online, so the forms can be received a little later but they want their $ on time. Hope this helps, and congrats!
