Guess I'll use a bike when it's not raining/sleeting/snowing and either get a pass and/or have my wife drop me off when it is.
Do you know what apartment complex? I know that the Crowne's all have a bus line.

First few weeks of class. It's typically not a big rush because roughly 70% of students study at home or elsewhere.

Its Hunt Club off Reynolda Rd. I don't think it does, unless there's a city bus line of some sort.

Unrelated question: Are we supposed to hate UNC as our instate rivals? because our thread is way more active than UNC'S. That means we're better, right?

I've never heard of Hunt Club, but from google maps it doesn't look like the bus line will stop there. I also have never seen a city bus run on that part of the road. Maybe car pool though. You're on the way to school from Providence Pointe and close enough to Crowne Park that someone might be able to pick you up.

And about carrels: the general rule is that if you put your stuff on the carrel, it is yours. That being said, the library staff technically doesn't allow it and we've had a few thefts in the past year. I plan on taking the same carrel I've had for the past two years, but not keeping my important items there.
Feasible on a road bike, or better on a mountain/29er?

I know I'm on the upper bound of a normal food budget, but I budget a total of $200 a week for all expenses including food. Food usually runs $120 a week, but I eat more than the average bear. The other expenses balance out from week to week; some times I'm under, some times I'm over. But all in all, it balances out.

Do you guys think it's worth it to buy a printer or just use the library ones?

I was hoping I could just make it by having the bike and riding the bus when it gets cold or rains like others said, but it sounds like it is just best to get the parking pass.

On another note for the others living in Crowne Polo, I just started moving stuff into my apartment and it's honestly so nice there. Also, I'm really liking the feel of the campus and the other parts of the city I've seen.

You don't have to buy a printer. The printing allowance on your student card will be so much that you won't use it all.

I read online that it was 8 cents per page - didn't realize we get an allowance.

Thanks :)

Last year it was $400. I still have about $120 left.

To the biking/walking: Incubadoofus is right, I spent nearly all of first semester, and a lot of second semester walking the 2.1mi distance to school. LOVED IT, even when it was slightly rainy or cold. By the time I got to school, I was fully awake and yet calmed by being outdoors. I think it really helped me keep my sanity. I would recommend the walk/ride.
Road, mountain, hybrid, fixie would all work. Hell, I rode my downhill rig for the gits and shiggles of it, once in a while.

To the carrels: I plopped my stuff down in a carrel next to Incubateus and never returned. lol I doubt you will have an issue.

To the food budget: Incubateus is an anomaly, I weigh in at 220lbs and spend maybe 50/week not including going out. Basics of coffee, meats, carbs, and desserts. WS has a super low cost of living.

What do you guys normally do for lunch in between classes?

Honestly, I'm really running out of questions.

How many places can I find growlers?

How many bojangles locations are there?

I try to take my lunch so I can do work during the break but that hardly ever works out. There are a couple fridges that you can put food in. You can also buy sandwiches, pizza, etc in the law student lounge and the undergrad campus has lots of food options.

Pertaining to the Bo jangles question...there is one within a 3 to 5 minute drive from school and a couple scattered throughout Winston.

Downtown also has a few microbrewery type places. I don't know what store has the best beer selection because I always go to the liquor store.

Are we still thinking that Reynolds and Wright won't be teaching 1L classes this year?

I just looked at the 1L classes under our course registration page and it showed Reynolds and Wright still teaching 1L classes.

Yes but some people were assuming the schedule would chance because of their new positions.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
