Ok, another potentially dumb question: what the heck does the ''R" mean on our course schedule? (As in, Torts 8:30-9:30 MWR)

Add that to the list of things you don't know.

Hey all,

I was just wondering if we are automatically added to the bookserv or if there's something more we need to do. If someone wants to part with their 1L books, let me know! :D

Should be automatically added. If not, you can manually do it. No need to worry about getting books soon - 2L's will start trickling back in the next 1-2 weeks and will have them to sell.

My UG used R also. It's a fairly common designation.

Has anyone living in Shoreland had any success with the free TV? I've only been able to get one channel so far (CBS).

Has anyone been able to find the photocopied materials we need to read for Elements of the Law with Strauss? I'm not sure if they're not up yet or if I just can't find them.

Last year you had to go to the basement to get them. In the back (east side) of the building there is a copy shop. I dunno if it's changed this year.

IIRC it's a really short assignment (7pgs) so you can get it Monday morning and you should be fine even if you have class that same day.

It may not be, Robb. He mentioned to me that he was trying to retool for this year.

Good luck tomorrow, 1Ls. Thus begins a very interesting year for you all. I know people who really liked 1L, some who just kind of muddled through, and some who really hated it. I was firmly in the absolutely hated 1L camp so if you guys ever need a non-1L to vent to please feel free to reach out. You will all survive and you will come out the other end with a better appreciation for life in general and what your true career goals are.

Try to enjoy fall quarter as much as possible. Work load is not too bad in the fall so go meet people and enjoy the city before winter destroys us all.

Hi all. I hope your first week is going well, and that the craziness isn't overwhelming yet. I just wanted to make a small PSA to encourage you, *especially* when it comes to job stuff (both for 1L summer and later for OCI) to reach out to people on TLS, to 2Ls/3Ls you get to know, and to trust your gut. This is another way of saying that you should really not take everything OCS says -- about your odds, your skills, your resume, your strategies -- at anything approaching face value. They have to come up with thumbnail rules that work for everyone, which (as with most thumbnail rules) work for very few people. We are here to help, as much as we can. Good luck!

Does anyone know anyone who had Nozette for Ethics last year who'd be willing to PM me an outline? He teaches at Cornell now and I could really, really use one.

Thanks.

Hi all, I'm a transfer moving to Chicago later this summer. I'm in the process of looking for housing and wanted to see if anyone was interested in splitting a two bedroom/two bathroom somewhere in South Loop. I've been looking at Park Michigan, but I'm open to anything in that area. Feel free to send me a PM if interested.
Short bio:

I'm a 27 year old male from upstate NY, but I've lived in DC the last several years. I consider myself somewhat of a neat-freak, but as long as common areas are reasonably maintained I'm okay. I have a girlfriend who lives in DC that would visit every few weeks. I do cook a lot, but I also keep my kitchen very clean. I have most necessary kitchen ware, but don't have a lot of furniture.
I would like to sign a lease relatively soon, beginning on Sept 1st, although I'm open to Aug 1st. I can sign a 12 month lease, but I will need to sublet for the summer.

Hi! Anyone take Conlaw with Samaha? He's teaching at NYU now and I have no idea what's going on. Would be forever grateful if someone could hook it up with a recent outline.

Thanks.
