Just now joining TLS - very excited to start at Northwestern in the Fall. So, are we all agreed that we don't need to send transcripts yet and that we are unable to opt in/out of the NU insurance program?

Welcome! Yeah, still waiting on transcripts. However, I was able to follow the trail through CAESAR to what appeared to be the opt out area. I even started filling it out, but didn't have enough data on my current policy to finish (transitioning plans, so new policy not in effect yet). So, I'm unsure if it would've let me finalize opting out.

Yeah, I saw that. I though that website might've pre-dated Cristina Gaspian's email to us though. From her June email: "When I receive work from the ABA and/or LSAC about the transcript issue, we’ll update the guide again and send out a notice."

I'll give student services a call and see if we should be sending them.

August has arrived! 3 weeks (and a day) until we start orientation...so it's finally feeling a little more real.

I also noticed CAESAR has our fall tuition posted. Yikes. If anyone gets any late-breaking news or updates that would benefit others, please share it with everyone.

Tomorrow is my last day at work and then I'm taking a week off and moving to Chicago! I'm so excited (and nervous) to move and get started! I'm also (way too) excited to meet all of you and our other classmates!

I'm driving away in ~37 hours. One week until orientation. I imagine sections will show up on CAESAR in the next day or two. New banner in the OP. Shit's getting real...

For orientation, I'm assuming its ok to not attend the events on the schedule not designated as mandatory? Specifically, 3 rounds of "What I Wish I Had Known When I Started Law School" sounds like 3 rounds too many...

It's strange, earlier today I had a full schedule on Caesar. I was assigned to section 1 with the exception of CLR, which was section 5. Now I'm listed as "dropped" from all of my section 1 classes. Not sure what to make of it.

"Thank you for registering for Early Bird Friday. Based on your preferences, you have been scheduled to attend Early Bird Friday during the afternoon session from 1:00 to 5:00. You can use the following schedule for reference:

1. Stop by the Admissions Office to check in and pick up your nametag.
2. BBQ from 1-2. Due to the weather, the BBQ will now take place in the Thorne Auditorium lobby.
3. Head over to Lowden Hall to pick up your t-shirt and orientation schedule (ends at 3:00 PM).
4. If you’ve found a locker buddy, stop by Levy Mayer 108 to get a locker assignment (ends at 3:00 PM).

I posted here a while about getting a fantasy football league together full of TLSers. Last year there was a league and it was a good way to get to know your classmates. So far, I think I only have 3 people total. Even if you're not the biggest NFL fan, fantasy can be fun. PM me or reply here if you want in.

I'm excited for school to finally start. Apparently, everyone finds out their sections later this week.

Hey, I watch the NFL quite a bit but I haven't tried fantasy football in like 10 years so I don't really know squat about it. Do you guys have a entrance fee and any info on when you will have the draft and such?

Hi all, I'm a transfer headed to Chicago in the Fall. I'm in the process of looking for housing and wanted to see if anyone was interested in splitting a two bedroom/two bathroom somewhere in South Loop. I've been looking at Park Michigan, but I'm open to anything in that area. Feel free to send me a PM if interested.
Short bio:

I'm a 27 year old male from upstate NY, but I've lived in DC the last several years. I consider myself somewhat of a neat-freak, but as long as common areas are reasonably maintained I'm okay. I have a girlfriend who lives in DC that would visit every few weeks. I do cook a lot, but I also keep my kitchen very clean. I have most necessary kitchen ware, but don't have a lot of furniture.
I would like to sign a lease relatively soon, beginning on Sept 1st, although I'm open to Aug 1st. I can sign a 12 month lease, but I will need to sublet for the summer.
