Does Overlook offer a 10 month option? What do the studios run per month?
If anyone know of such 10 month options, please let me know.

Yes, the Overlook does offer a limited number of 10 month leases. I got a 10 month lease there and it runs until May 20th. I inquired about this in the beginning of February and the 10 month leases for studios were already taken and they had just a few left for the 1BR, which is what I went with. I'm guessing 10 month leases for the 1BR are probably all taken by now, though.

Campus housing is the cheapest. It's only a 10-15 minute walk to the law school. Fully furnished. I lived in the on campus housing this year and am living there next year as well.
I originally wanted to get a single somewhere off campus so I could "focus" on studying. I'm glad I didn't. I do all my studying at the law school so I feel like I am barely home anyways. And human interaction outside of the law school is always a good thing. Everyone has their own study strategy though. I know a fair amount of 1Ls this year who did do a single somewhere off campus.
Thanks for the perspective!

Husky. No, they are 12 month starting at $795.

Admitted today, pretty sure I'll be there in the Fall! Any advice on housing? I looked through this thread and contacted the Overlook by email just now. Trying to find a one bedroom or even a studio for my boyfriend and me.

Now I have FOMO over not living at the overlook. I just want a single and am stingy. When I visited the Overlook in March the 10 month leases were gone.

Did you find a 10 month lease elsewhere?

Drinking a beer at O'Rourkes trying to decide if I want to come here. Any current students available for dinner

ETA: super last minute visit. Otherwise I would've tried to schedule.

I'm curious what size of class we'll have this fall. Last year had 162. It seems like a lot of schools are reducing class size by ~10-20% this year. Maybe ND will do the same in hopes of moving back into the lower 20s? I did notice there are only 3 sections on the schedule for this fall, although I'm not sure how many students they put in each and whether they've always had only 3 sections? I guess time will tell.

Talked to Mr. Baska at admissions and got a projected enrollment of between 170-180, so I wouldn't hope for much of a reduction.

Thanks for the info! I guess that's more in line with their typical class size.

Hey everyone I just wanted to drop in even though I'm not going to ND law next year and let you know that I have lived in South Bend/Mishawaka my whole life. If you have even questions about housing or areas feel free to inbox me or we ask in this forum. Btw, I HIGHLY recommend Williamsburg On zone Lake for an extremely reasonablely priced location. There are a few others I could recommend! Good luck to you all!

I'll be visiting June 6, hoping there will still be spots in Overlook by then but not counting on it. Does anyone know of any other walking-distance apartment buildings? I'll have a bike most likely but not a car

Checking in, attending, and will be visiting next weekend? Anyone around?

Also, any advice on housing as well is much appreciated. Behind the curve here and feeling as though on-campus living might be a far cry at this point. Any suggestions on neighborhoods / complexes?

What happens in regards to finding housing for people who decide really late? :-/ I know this could be really shitty in Chicago, but I don't know how bad this would be in South Bend (never been before...)

Had no idea you were considering. I think University Edge still has some rooms available. You should call their office to see if there is still a lot of space. Otherwise, you might have to Craigslist it. There's plenty of decently priced places. However...it is Craigslist and unless you're in the area to visit, I probably wouldn't commit to anything.

Hi all, I'm trying to get out of my Overlook apartment and man are they sticklers about that. They say they can't find someone to take my room, so I guess I'll do their job for them. If anyone wants room 2228 call em up, it's open. Cheers.
