Thanks for starting, yeslekkkk!
May be worthwhile to go through and put in important info in the OP - dates of due seat deposits, link to accepted student website, dates of ASWeekends, etc.

Admitted via RD last month. Gonna wait and see on a few other places then decide, but Michigan will probably where I'll be in the fall!

DOes anyone know if we are required to submit our fall transcripts once we finish the semester?

I was also admitted for summer, but I'm still waiting to hear from other schools. But I'm really excited about Michigan. I'll work on adding some info a little later in the OP.

Summer Starters looking for a sublet- I have a nice, furnished, studio apartment near the law school. Can be available right after next semester's finals... I figured that is the route you all might try to go, with most leases starting in August. PM if interested!

Question about starting in the summer: do you end up paying more tuition? Do people actually graduate a semester early?

I would have had a beautiful page, that would stand alone with no rivals... it would have been great and worthy of Michigan.alex.cm wrote:Thanks for starting, yeslekkkk!

The way everyone talks about it, yes, you do. The link below talks about it a little more, but you can graduate early, take extra classes and graduate on time, or take a semester off to do... something. I actually talked to a 3L friend of mine who said that it's a big advantage for OCIs because you have completed 3 classes by the time you're signing up for them. You also are unlimited in your selection of electives for the winter semester. She did think, though, that some of the summer starters seemed pretty burned out by the end of the year (3 semesters is a lot without a significant break, and Michigan doesn't have very long breaks).
I would imagine that you only pay extra tuition if you opt to take an extra semester. TBH I'm a LITTLE confused how there could be "no concomitant heavier courseload later", if you actually graduate a full semester earlier, but I may be thinking about this incorrectly.
http://www.law.umich.edu/prospectivestu ... rters.aspx - "graduating early is the most frequent choice"
EDIT: Also, there's the whole page about contacting current students on the admitted students page. none of them are listed as summer/fall starters, but if you really want to ask those burning questions, shoot one of them an email and if they weren't summer start, I'm sure they'd forward you to a friend who was.

Hey Everyone,
Congrats to those who have heard back already and good luck to the rest of you! MLaw is the best. I know it's early, but I wanted to reach out to you Summer Starters about housing. My landlord is already looking to lease apartments in his building for next year, and if any of you were interested you could sublet my apartment and then take over the lease at the end of the summer! If you aren't looking to live in the Lawyer's Club this is ideal because then you don't have to worry about moving out of your sublet during finals. The apartment is really nice, parking is available and it's less than a 5 minute walk to the law school (on S. Division, just below Packard). PM me if you would like more information!

I'm still waiting to hear about scholarships and such before I make my final decision, but there is virtually no chance that I'm not sticking around A2 for another 3 years, so I figured I would pop in. Hello to all, and I've still got hope that Scotty will officially join this party soon!
