I'm sorry, I'm not well-versed in this part of American culture...am I to understand that yacht club is just a euphemism for getting drunk on a boat? I don't know why I had the impression that you have to know how to sail for this...

Also, anyone doing the public service day? I'm trying to consider how drunk I'm getting the night before at City Tap House and if I'll want to be up at 8 the next morning. My undergrad orientation had a similar event, and I skipped it for similar reasons. Turns out I was like, the only person I know who didn't do it and I felt like such a tool.

Did anyone see that recent email from Penn that mentioned students from the school writing the penal code for the nation of Maldives? Friggin' hardcore.

Students? Last I heard Robinson basically wrote the whole thing. Maybe he solicited student ideas first.

The email made it sound like students were working with him on it.

They will be marked as done on your status checker.

There was an email about it. Plus I am pretty sure there are links on the accepted students page. If you can find it let me know, I'll dig through my emails.

I am going to most of them; B.B. said those were the best events. I have my email now. You set it up yourself once you have your pennkey.

Well-- really behind on basically everything. After being abroad for the better part of the last 8 months, my mail is finally catching up with me.

I haven't done much with financial aid-- sitting in an airport heading to Philly to apartment-hunt this week. While the schedule is packed, I have some time. Has anyone visited with the financial aid folks? I was thinking it might behoove me to sit down and chat with them. Thoughts?

To clarify, it was just to go over financing info and setting everything up, not trying to get $$

I'm about as non-diverse as they come and I got the email... So I'm going to guess everyone did.

They seemed really helpful on the phone when I had a few questions for them.

Orientation RSVP is up on the admitted students site! Is everyone trying to go to pretty much everything or being more selective with what they choose? I think I'll RSVP yes to most of it.
