Plus you avoid the frattastic scene that is ctown on a Friday night. (No offense to the fratstars in the thread.)
When you say roommates do you mean like same room or everyone had their own rooms in the same apartment?

Well, I can confirm what kemosabe said about me saying it's March.

I can also provide evidence if you want:
Admitted Students FAQ wrote:When will I receive my financial aid package?

In general, we start sending out financial aid packages during early March.

I'll interject and say that I don't know anybody who actually shares a bedroom. $500 per person for a 3BR downtown seems accurate.

Thanks for the heads up. As an older student I wish to avoid such a scene.

They're everywhere, really. Can't make generalizations. There are older party students, too. See: Lavitz. Kidding on all fronts. Anyways, quieter options are definitely downtown (By the commons), north campus (it's a bit of a trek but I know people who do it), or Collegetown terrace (if you can afford it).

We shared a 3-BR apartment. I had a huge bedroom to myself with four windows and a decent view.

Older students do, to a greater extent, live away from ctown, although there are plenty there, too. I also had a lot of grad student friends, who tend to live and hang out more downtown.

Really excited that I am able to check into this thread, was admitted last week. Still not sure if I am able to attend ASW.

Btw, how long does it usually take to receive the admitted students packet?

Sorry I haven't been following cycles too much. Glad to see you got in too!

For those of you that have been admitted for a while, how long did it take for you to get info about required forms to fill out for schollies, housing, etc? I saw some of the links on the main page here, but I'd imagine us recent admits will still be getting accepted packets and additional info?

In the e-mail with my decision, it had a PDF of the admit materials, which included a FinAid checklist, etc.
That came in the mail about a week later.

Finally checking in after months of lurking the forums!
Looking forward to seeing everyone later this week.

Lavitz, really looking forward to finally meeting the master behind all these fantastic Cornell threads! Hopefully you will be radiating TLS wisdom at the ASD so it will not be hard to find you :D Are you the only one doing the tours/lunch? That will make recognizing you that much easier

I was accepted mid January and I still have not received any required forms, scholarship info, etc. You initially get physical copies of acceptance letters you received with your email. I think that came within a week or two? Then you get a red, cloth-bound accepted students handbook within a month (at least for me it took a few weeks). That one took longer than expected to arrive but it lived up to the hype. It's indeed very beautiful. I am still waiting on all the other "important information" they said they'll send. You should just go ahead and fill out the financial aid stuff asap.

Nah, admissions would be crazy to let some 1L who's never given a tour before take everyone who shows up. There will be multiple tour groups leaving around the same time.

Last year we all gave each other hints. I plan on wearing a blue, short-sleeve, button-down shirt. That should make it easy enough.

Thanks. Things were pretty hectic when I received my acceptance e-mail and I apparently missed the checklist on the last page of the attachment.
