the interview that you had with them would be incorporated into the next year's pool of applicants if I were still interested? I read this as potentially just boilerplate rejection material, but having thought about it more, this is something different than "please feel free to re-apply next term." Maybe this particular judge is just being nice, but I'm curious if anybody else has heard something like this.
