Not that I know of. I think 50k for one and 70k for two is pretty standard outside of a few outliers (QE and boutiques like Susman).

Letter came into chambers today from Wheeler Trigg O'Donnell seeking applicants. Feels like the real start of the job hunting season with the turn of the new year.

No that I saw, but this was a while ago. Probably best to just shoot in your application whenever.

Yea, I did in October and they said it was "a couple months early" so I was just curious if it said when they would be reviewing. Appreciated!

Answer. No.

First, early is always better than late; at worst, the employer will hold onto your resume for a month or two, and be impressed by your initiative and eagerness. Second, there's not much difference between a Nov. 2018 start and an Aug. 2018 start -- it'll be the same pool of slots. Finally, firms are already beginning to hire for fall 2018, as suggested by this thread. New York Law Firm recruiting season goes into overdrive in January/February, with many law firm receptions, etc. (Obviously, other markets may start at different times; but see #1.) No reason not to start now.

Zuckerman, yeah. They don't have a summer program and mostly hire clerks for entry-level positions. Seemed like a typical DC boutique - lots of former BigLaw and Feds.

I know Reid Collins does a decent amount of plaintiff-side lit (probably normal for a firm of their size). Although competent, they don’t really stand out like Kellogg, Molo, etc. Even looking at the bios, you kinda get the sense they’re unremarkable.

Same anon. Don't know about pay. Reputation is strong for white collar defense and good for lit. They have ties to some agencies (HHS/FDA and CFTC, I think). Their pitch was pretty typical for a boutique: lean staffing, early experience, partner mentorship, etc.

People frequently arrange to go back to their summer firm after clerking. Sometimes they officially accept an offer to return, but a lot of judges don't want their clerks to have accepted an offer before clerking (for conflict reasons), so the firm will hold the offer open until you've finished clerking.

Mid level (non-prestigious, non-flyover) district and non2/7/9 coa clerk here. So far put in about 100 apps (mostly east coast/Midwest) and gotten 3 callbacks, almost 50 rejections. Pretty fun stuff.

Obviously good credentials, but I think your "problem" might be that you'd be coming in as a ~6th year, which is pretty senior. Did you work in big law prior to the clerkships?
