Re: Let's Talk 1st Circuit
Barron is done for 2016-17 and has hired one for 2017-18...I'm not sure if he's currently interviewing for that term, though.
Not sure what's going on with his one 2015-16 spot. I assume he'll be looking to fill that one ASAP, if he hasn't already.

Anyone know if Torreulla is the only non-Boston judge who keeps a clerk in Boston full time? Or do Howard, Thompson, Lipez, Selya and/or Kayatta do so as well?

Has Howard, seyla, or barron (for his 2 remaining spots) started interviewing for their 2017 postings yet?

Barron has hired for at least one of his two remaining spots. The other one was still open (but he was reviewing applications) as of last week.Anonymous User wrote:Has Howard, seyla, or barron (for his 2 remaining spots) started interviewing for their 2017 postings yet?

Anyone know Thompson's hiring schedule? She doesn't post on OSCAR.

Does anyone know what Judge Lynch and Judge Thompson are like re: personality, how their chambers operate, etc.?

Lynch is known to have a pretty strict, no-nonsense, no chummy-buddy shooting-the-sh*t with her clerks attittude. Whole chambers is run through her long-time assistant, who Lynch has made known is the only person in chambers she really values. But she's a well-respected judge by her peers. Re hiring, many if not most are HLS grads, HLR preferred, grade-heavy, often professor recommendation-based.Anonymous User wrote:Does anyone know what Judge Lynch and Judge Thompson are like re: personality, how their chambers operate, etc.?

100% correct; there were 4 HLS grads for the '15-'16 term, 2 HLR editors + 2 secondary journal managing board members, 3 magnas and 1 cum.Anonymous User wrote:Lynch is known to have a pretty strict, no-nonsense, no chummy-buddy shooting-the-sh*t with her clerks attittude. Does anyone know what the vibe is for Kayatta re: personality, work environment, how chambers runs, etc?

Does anyone have any information on Boudin? Long shot, but I'm close with a professor who knows him really well. Looked on OSCAR and he's not there. Not sure if he even hires clerks anymore.

From all public information, he's likely been very ill and not working for a long time.Anonymous User wrote:Does anyone have any information on Boudin? Long shot, but I'm close with a professor who knows him really well. Looked on OSCAR and he's not there. Not sure if he even hires clerks anymore.

Yes, it’s unfortunately been about 5 years since Judge Boudin has sat on the bench.Anonymous User wrote:From all public information, he's likely been very ill and not working for a long time.Anonymous User wrote:Does anyone have any information on Boudin? Boudin is not officially "back," so he won't need clerks. Right now from what I understand he has a permanent / career-like clerk. Not impossible that he looks to clerks in the future though, but doubt it.

Is Torruella done and stepping down? Is he no longer hiring clerks?

Anyone have any info on Judge Thompson's hiring process? She isn't on OSCAR and I haven't been able to find anything about her hiring practices.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
