Anyone know anything about Rosenbaum? The fact that she goes out of her way to say how hard the work is seems like a bit of a red flag

Super smart, but she will work you hard. I don't think she's as bad as a Kozinski or Posner, but her clerks are routinely working until 11:00 PM a lot of nights.Anonymous User wrote:Anyone know anything about Rosenbaum? Working until 11 PM? That sounds miserable. How does that happen?Anonymous User wrote:Super smart, but she will work you hard. My understanding through hearsay is that she does not share in the bench memo pool. But there's probably other reasons as well.

There's no shared bench memos in the 11th. It also has the highest caseload, per-capita in the country- you'll work pretty hard for most of the judges there. Working till 11pm on a daily basis seems unusual, but clerks for both Judges Pryor, E. Carnes, and Martin also work long(ish) hours.Anonymous User wrote:My understanding through hearsay is that she does not share in the bench memo pool. But there's probably other reasons as well.

Judge W. Pryor done for 2018-19 per letter from chambers. Judge Rosenbaum done per email.

Has anyone received a rejection letter from Ed Carnes? I know 4/5 slots are filled, I was just wondering whether he has already informed applicants that they were not selected. In the alternative, is it customary for him to do so? If anyone knows that'd be awesome.

You'll usually be contacted by Carnes' assistant if he's interested in you, prior to the interview via phone or email. If you haven't been contacted, chances are you're rejected.

Anyone have experience with Jill Pryor application/interview? I see she opened up for one spot on OSCAR. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TY

As I understand it, a Posner clerkship is not particularly burdensome (Posner writes his own opinions). Certainly should not be included in the same breath as a Kozinski clerkship in terms of workload/hours.Anonymous User wrote:Super smart, but she will work you hard. Anyone have specifics or estimates about how hard Pryor and Carnes clerks work? I've heard mixed things

Wilson is interviewing and hiring on rolling basis. I believe (but am not sure) that 3/4 slots have been filled for 2018-19.Anonymous User wrote:Does anyone know anything about Judge Wilson? Is he interviewing?

Where'd you hear that about Judge Wilson? I heard from one of his current clerks that he doesn't hire until summer or early fall

Can confirm he's hiring and interviewing (possibly done interviewing at this point) for 2018 but that's all I can say.Anonymous User wrote:Where'd you hear that about Judge Wilson? I heard from one of his current clerks that he doesn't hire until summer or early fall

Anyone have a general sense of when the different judges start taking applications? Are there any here who accept with only two semesters of grades?

Re: Let's talk 11th Circuit!
Anyone with any information on whether any 11th Cir. judges have started hiring for 2019-2020? Or what a typical timeline is? The clerkship advisor at my school said to send in applications as soon as possible, but I don't even see an OSCAR post yet for that term.
Also have a dis. ct. clerkship for 2018-2019. Any 11th Cir. judges that usually hire former dis. ct. clerks?
Thanks!

Re: Let's talk 11th Circuit!
As far as I know, W. Pryor has already hired for 2019-20. Someone also said that Jordan has begun hiring for 2019-20. I don't know if that's true (or if they meant Kent Jordan). Beyond that, I don't think anyone else has. I expect a few judges will open up reasonably soon (possibly including Ed Carnes).
The 11th Circuit, on average, tends to hire later, so there hasn't been much movement yet for 2019-20.
