Signing bonuses for alums
Do firms usually pay the post-clerkship signing bonus to people who went work->clerk->work? Does it matter whether you come back to the same firm or go to a different one?

Re: Signing bonuses for alums
My understanding is that the bonus is for anyone coming from a clerkship, regardless of what they did before the clerkship; if you look at the websites for firms that like to lure clerks, they refer to bonuses and clearly aren't talking about people who already have a commitment to come back after summering/working there (they'd have no need to advertise that).

Here's a data point: I returned to my firm and they gave me a clerkship bonus.
