Going to have to wait for Lacepiece to answer these. I don't think most people cook though.CornellStudent wrote:Just to shift the topic onto Hughes for a second...
How's the wi-fi?
How does the shared kitchen work with so many people? I remember reading that there's more than 1 fridge, etc., but still, how annoying was it in previous years with everyone sharing/cooking? Did most people even do any cooking there?
What's in the common room?...and I'm assuming there's only 1 on the 1st floor.
I was just going to solicit books from the 2Ls on here as soon as sections are out. There was a discussion about it in the facebook group a while ago and a 2L said we could just buy them from current students during orientation. Although I'm sure he was also worried we would all buy them before we got there and he wouldn't have anyone to sell his books to.stuckinthemiddle wrote:How is everyone dealing with books? Is there a way to get these tomes for cheaper than the Cornell book store. My eyes are bleeding just looking up potential prices.
Buy used its the way to go. I paid like $300 total for all my books last year. I really don't think having new books is going to give u any edge grade wise. Also, the kitchen is okay you guys get two full fridges. It gets pretty packed so I would have a mini fridge as well. Most people don't cook. Everyone for the most part was okay with sharing last year and it wasn't that bad.Lavitz wrote:Going to have to wait for Lacepiece to answer these. The wi-fi is fine for most things you'd do.CornellStudent wrote:Just to shift the topic onto Hughes for a second...

They're not. Are you in the facebook group? There was a whole thing about it but basically, the courses were on the blackboard site, then they vanished. Once you do see the courses there (probably tomorrow), you compare it with the schedule to figure out which letter section you're in. The easiest way is to look at the Lawyering profs.Feeny wrote:Where are sections posted?
