Bar crawl on Friday??guinness1547 wrote:Just to change the topic quickly, I received a little packet from Cornell with an Ithaca guide in it. I'd like to direct the conversation to best bars in town. I know nothing about Ithaca or the bar scene, so basing my judgments only off of the packet I'd say the following sounded interesting.
The few breweries they have
Castaways
Moonshadow Tavern(board and video games? Just sounds odd to me)
The Haunt
Anyone actually know anything about the bars there?

Are people actually planning to stay through Saturday for the campus tour? I think I'm just going to bounce Friday evening.

I'm not sure yet, but I feel like it may be way more expensive to fly out on Friday nightiMisto wrote:Are people actually planning to stay through Saturday for the campus tour? I think I'm just going to bounce Friday evening.

Ermm.. I was thinking about driving. CT isn't too far away. I'll check for cheap flights though.comeonletsgo wrote:I'm not sure yet, but I feel like it may be way more expensive to fly out on Friday nightiMisto wrote:Are people actually planning to stay through Saturday for the campus tour? I love both beer and Ivy League prestige so about time I checked in to this thread.
I really want to attend an ASW but I would have to fly and getting to Ithaca is giving me a headache already. How is everyone getting there? Fly into Syracuse and rent a car? Bite the bullet and fly into Ithaca airport?

I'm fairly certain I'll be driving up (only a 4.5hr drive).
Umm.. and I seriously hope somebody else makes a decision to attend Cornell; I don't like this limbo stuff.

The bars that are easiest to get to from Cornell are in Collegetown. The ones you listed are downtown/elsewhere, which is going to mean a 20ish minute walk. That being said, there are like 3 decent bars in collegetown. I recommend Chapter House, which is like a five or six minute walk. If you go to Cornell next year, you'll find yourself there often.comeonletsgo wrote:Bar crawl on Friday??guinness1547 wrote:Just to change the topic quickly, I received a little packet from Cornell with an Ithaca guide in it. I'm definitely getting more and more excited! Looking at financial aid stuff now. Has anyone started/finished their financial aid paperwork?

Last year I had to ask for them to extend the deadline for parents tax returns. They just had me send the previous year's.
It doesn't matter anyway since no one gets need aid and they don't use it to determine merit aid.

I think you have to fill it out to be eligible? But no, parental income isn't used for merit aid.Crowing wrote:wut. i thought they did. that was the only reason i even bothered to fill that shit out. now you're telling me it was for nothing?ImNoScar wrote:Last year I had to ask for them to extend the deadline for parents tax returns.
