Some guidance for 1Ls who just got grades:

Don't discuss grades with your classmates.
Go to the auction tonight and have fun.

Everyone's been really good about it so far. Y'all + DG have really drilled it into us not to talk about them. Most I've heard are people saying "I'm happier with this grade than this one", but that's pretty mild.

WTF, classmates? Judging from Facebook, some people go home i.e. fly across the country to visit their parents every time there is a long weekend or holiday. You realize we don't even get a day off for Easter, right?

A) You are an adult, strange as it may seem to some of you. You need to detach from your parents and

B) Every weekend you spend hanging out with mommy & daddy is a weekend you're not spending on the brief, homework, supplements, test prep and all the other things which should be your priorities right now. Grow up and start managing your time efficiently.

Also some people like to celebrate the most important Christian/Catholic holiday with their family. Crazy I know.

I don't see why you feel the need to disparage others anonymously in such a way, or even feel negatively about this at all. These are the sort of obnoxious comments that make outsiders think poorly of our school.

People have different relationships with their families. Many well-adjusted adults visit their parents frequently and spend a lot of time with them in-person. That doesn't make them any less mature or independent. I would love to spend more time with mine, but like you, I don't feel like I have the opportunity to do so right now.

But maybe other people are better at managing their time. Or they just have different priorities. That's great. Either way, it's not my business or yours.

Hell, even a complete sociopath shouldn't have anything negative to say about this subject, since if they really are harming their own studies to take trips, it's benefitting people they are curved against.

I sat here for about thirty seconds trying to figure out why this should matter at all to you, and couldn't come up with a solid reason. Except maybe Crowing's curve idea, in which case you should be happy. The irony of someone dressing down people for being juvenile with this little rant is pretty delicious.

I realize spring quarter is getting to people. Almost there. Take a deep breath, count to ten, and repeat this until you really believe it: "I will focus on my own shit."

Spring Quarter is REALLY getting to people. It doesn't really seem so bad overall but for the fact that everyone's a bundle of nerves all the time.

Oh yeah I'm thinking grades will be late, but the DG email telling us not to worry is imminent.

People who have time to post these comments on TLS need to grow up and realize being an adult means working all the time. If you're having fun in law school you need to reconsider your maturity level.
