I'm in section 3 for Bigelow. Is it weird that my other classes are a mix of 1 and 2?
Two other questions: 1) For the first Bigelow assignment, all we have to do is read those two documents, right? 2) Guys, what type of bag are you bringing to carry around your notebook during the explore the legal community day and the rest of orientation? ie, backpack or briefcase?

We're divided up into 6 sections for LRW, but only 2 sections for the other doctrinal classes.robot_socrates wrote:I'm in section 3 for Bigelow. Is it weird that my other classes are a mix of 1 and 2?
I would make sure to bring a rolling backpack.robot_socrates wrote:

Chilton's section? Me too
I remember someone told me that the other classes usually combine 3 sections, so after 1L we would have at least one class together with each Bigelow section

Pro tips for you guys:
1. No suits except the entering students dinner thing where you have to
2. No rolly backpacks (and if you MUST, do not use the handicap button to open the doors for it)
3. Do not bring your laptops to orientation
4. Spend orientation/autumn quarter meeting people who can get you through the tough times (i.e. spring quarter), not freaking the fuck out
5. Do not gun orientation

Handicap button on its own is fine, it's just pressing it and waiting for it to open ever-so-slowly so that you can cruise through with your rolly backpack, holding everyone else up. It was also 1L and I was angrier thenEmma. wrote:Wait, I used the handicap button all the time. No rolling bag though.Xifeng wrote:EVERY. DAY.ChampagnePapi wrote:*dead*Xifeng wrote: 2. I think so... I was thinking about bringing a small notebook that could fit in my pocket, or just using my phone if need be.

Take no notes. Nothing is going to be important enough to whip out a notebook from your pocket and write it down.

Use your phone if you must, but Emma is right that there are going to be zero things worth writing down.
No one will follow this advice though lol

Hey guys, does anyone know what the deal is with the casebook for Civ Pro if you have Buss? The bookstore link says its a "custom" book. I really don't feel like paying that much for a casebook, but it doesn't look available anywhere else?
Anyone know anything? Is this definitely a book to buy from a 2L?

I would pick it up from an upperclassman for sure. It was new as of last year I think so it's not one that you can readily pick up used online yet.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
