Hopping back on to the parking permit subject. The law student parking page now says that all the info on the page isn't valid, and that we should all get an email no later than today explaining what we need to do. Has anyone found any other info?

I don't even see where signing up for green zone parking permits or the wait list for one is an option on the webpage. When I went to purchase a permit, all I was allowed to click was East or Yellow. Can someone direct me to where they signed up for the Green Zone Permits/Wait list?AllDangle wrote:Hopping back on to the parking permit subject. Took me a long time to find the health insurance waiver form so in case anyone else was looking:
https://www.bcbsnc.com/content/studentb ... age=waiver
On another note, how are y'alls summers going? I decided the only prep I was going to do was read Getting to Maybe so now I'm just chilling all the time (which means being on Netflix at 3am, watching some old 90s show and reminiscing about my misspent youth ). And on that note, if anyone has any recommendations, shoot them my way! I'm always on the lookout for good tv.

Thanks for the link. It was one of those things I knew I needed to get around to but was way too lazy to find it. Summers going alright, pretty much The absolute same as you. Watching entire tv series on Netflix and killing time, up until last week when I got offered to assist in a law office. In the long run the money doesn't matter considering my impending loan amount but the work is way easy and It's good money and experience, I get to sit in on hearings and stuff.whosonfirst wrote:Took me a long time to find the health insurance waiver form so in case anyone else was looking:

Read GTM, and now just waiting until all hell breaks loose this fall.

Anyone have an update on parking permits? The law student parking permit page says we were supposed to get an email yesterday but it never came.

That's cool about the law office work. The closest I've gotten to court experience this year was when I had to go in for traffic courtPM2353 wrote:Thanks for the link. Luckily it wasn't for anything I'd ever have to report on applications.
How did you like GTM?

Sorry, I haven't heard anything yet either. I did read something about Duke updating its permit prices & system this year so it's probably just delayed for that.AllDangle wrote:Anyone have an update on parking permits? In case anybody else is looking for another book to read while wasting time to prepare for the Fall, I purchased GTM (as it seems is fairly popular among entering students), but also purchased 1L of a Ride. Its more of a general prep book, instead of just the test taking skills that GTM mainly gives you. It's an easy read and some of the information seems helpful, and even if it wasn't it still helps pass the time.
Looking forward to meeting everybody in August!

I thought it was great. But as a 0L, it just seemed to me like they make exams seem easier than what it will be like. I felt like I got a lot out of it, but ultimately it's all info I feel everyone will eventually pick up on after a few weeks. But nonetheless I really enjoyed it and it gave me a clearer idea of exam taking and in general what approach to take.

Which pass is better, blue or green? Or is it worth it to try and get a carpool permit?

Anyone still looking for housing? I have very unfortunately withdrawn from Duke, but already signed my lease at Trinity Commons, set to start August 12.

edit: nvm, congrats!
It's fucking awesome here, by the way. Plus, if any of you have questions, I'm happy to answer to the extent of my experience of having been here for a whole month and a half. (Summer start is Contracts and Torts 5 days a week.)

^ I'm all set with housing, but congrats on Columbia!
Does anybody know what the deal regarding exchanges and externships is? Is it possible to do an exchange semester abroad and then an externship semester (like Duke in DC)?

I got to talk to Dean Levi a bit at ASW, he was cool. His mad Spanish skillz bump him up another notch for me.
10% of Duke alumni live and work abroad??? Really?
