University of Tulsa Class of 2015

Post by Oklahoma2014 » Tue Apr 17, 2012 12:27 pm

Made the final decision today. Already withdrew from my other options so no looking back now. Very happy this part of the process is over! Tired of stalking the mail lady. Haha!

Still deciding between Syracuse or Tulsa, any thoughts?

Looks like you are from Texas so TU would be much closer, if that matters to you. Also looks like TU is much cheaper than Syracuse, though still expensive. Other than that I'm not sure I can be of much help. I don't know much about Syracuse. I do know that if you raised your LSAT score it would be huge in terms of scholarship dollars.

How long has it taken for your application to switch between the update from "file under review" to "accepted"? My application was sent in unusually late, so I'm trying to juggle deposit dates and my outstanding applications.

Seems like the whole process took about two weeks. Their admissions staff is very helpful, just give them a call or email asking how long the process will likely take.

That's always a relief. I often wonder if my contacting them has a detrimental effect on the process.

I was the same way and would over analyze every email correspondence with them. Haha. Actually, after a couple of weeks I inquired as to how long the process would take. Received a quick response saying I would have a decision by the end of the week, my status checker updated to 'admitted' just a few hours later.

Your advice has paid-off--to a degree. I was initially told by a pleasant woman on the phone that it would likely be another 4 weeks or more until a decision was rendered. Upon explaining my desire to attend the school and the deposit dates coming to a head for my other acceptances, she offered to flag my application and speak to someone on the admissions board. If she was to be believed, I'm hoping to get an answer soon!

Tulsa, OK looks like a fantastic city and the school offers much that I would be interested in--the international program looks great.

Still quiet. Eerily so... I've since updated my resume to include a top-notch firm in southern California and a recommendation letter. I hope they stand to bolster my application!
