Anyone else settled on SLU? I got into WUSTL as well, but at sticker... so SLU it is! My fiancé and I are from St. Louis, but we live in Vegas right now because he is in medical school here. I am excited to move back home!

haha. Yeah, I'm in a similiar position. SLU for cheap, or UIUC for a lot.

So I'm guessing you are SLU-bound, right? Sigh. I wrestled with the idea of paying sticker for WUSTL, but in the end, I couldn't really justify it. I'm not really knocking SLU - I'm plenty happy with it - but what a decision to have to make!

I'll be attending this fall as well... Anyone going to ASW that's coming up? I got my hotel rooms at the Drury Hotel Union Station for $89/night (the ASW said $114/night). They were very nice when I called to make my reservation.

I'll be at ASW! My parents live in town, so I'm going to visit them while I'm at it.

I don't know much about the medical community, but it seems like StL has a pretty sizeable market. Is he going to work there following med school?

I heard that they don't create the group until after the first deposit deadline (April 15). Probably a good idea in the long run. Did you go to ASW? There was a lot of good information provided there by current students about housing, etc.

St. Louis is a great place to practice medicine - the market is very strong. My fiancé will be starting his rotations next fall while I start law school, and he'll be required to do some of them in Vegas. However, when it's finally time to apply for a residency, he's planning on applying only in St. Louis. Medical students usually choose a specialty and then apply broadly throughout the country to whatever suits their interests. However, he's interested in quite a few things, so he's going to apply to several different specialties in St. Louis to make sure he ends up there. Most people would view that as being very "backward," but my fiancé is so indecisive that it will actually help him FINALLY choose a career path based on what residency he is given.

More than anything, we're really concerned about ending up back in St. Louis. We want to start a family at some point, and Vegas is a terrible place to do that. I don't know if I was just raised really conservatively or what, but it doesn't seem "normal" to me to have a kid grow up someplace where mobile billboards drive around residential areas with naked women plastered on them. I'm a substitute teacher right now, and the kids in this city are some of the most ill-adjusted children I have ever met. When we were younger, we were so desperate to live ANYWHERE but Missouri... but now that we've been away, we realized that the grass isn't greener everywhere else!

Depending on the day, I'm anywhere from 75% to 98% sure I'm going to be at SLU.

I'm guessing you wont see further action until after the initial seat deposit deadline (4/15).

Good luck! I think seat deposits might be down this year because I've gotten numerous emails from schools stating that even though the deadline passed they are willing to extend the deadline and increase scholarships.... I was pretty sure that this those deadlines were pretty firm.

I hope thats the case! SLU is my top choice - the anticipation of waiting for decisions has been brutal. Hopefully it'll work out. And I don't think I've heard of a school extending their seat deposit deadline...out of all the deadlines I thought that was probably the one they would follow the most. But what do I know

My application was received/completed on 03/01 and I got the acceptance email on 04/10.

FYI:The admission staff is awesome.So,if you have questions/concerns pls call them.I am 80% attending SLU

Thanks for the response, yeah their admissions people are some of the nicest I've talked to. I got wait listed (they never sent me an email and the official letter took a week in the mail lol)
