University of Cincinnati 2015

Post by cdelgado » Wed Feb 22, 2012 1:13 pm

I may be the only one here. I am considering UC for a number of reasons and will probably end up there.

Anyone else considering UC? Anyone attending one of the ASDs?

Yeah, I'd say it'll be Cincinnati for me. I have a bunch of family in that area and I really like the GMR option which I will definitely be taking advantage of. Finding a place to live while on the other side of the country (WA) is a bit intimidating though. I'm strongly considering attending the April ASD.

Cincinnati is probably where I'm staying, currently an undergrad and they offered me decent $$. Good for me because I plan on practicing in the Cincinnati area. I am attending the March 9th ASD.

ab1191, make sure if you are looking for a place you look in N KY to get the metro rate! Looking into Cincinnati itself will hurt with OOS tuition.

Oh, yeah, definitely Northern Kentucky. I've been eyeing Newport and surrounding areas, we'll see what's available come this summer.

Newport can be great, but be careful it can also be quite pricey (you can find a few cheap places however). Its probably the busiest bar district in the area (a few other nice ones in Cincinnati itself that I actually prefer simply because you can get a quiet drink with friends).

Don't forget the law school maintains a list of "acceptable" and "unacceptable" landlords.

Really? I haven't come across that many resources from the law school for finding housing in NKY.

What cities/neighborhoods in NKY would everyone recommend?

E-mail Jessica Butler, the admissions officer, for the list. They keep one informally based upon feedback from other students and so forth.

I am not entirely familiar with NKY but I know a few people who live in Highland Heights and commute to the school and love it.

I really liked this school in the beginning of my cycle, and their scholly + GMR is incredibly enticing, but I'm from the East Coast and legitimately have no ties to the area. I wouldn't mind working in the region for however many years after school, but I keep hearing about how insular the market is in the Cincinnati area, and it's disconcerting.

I have not noticed one. Does someone want to take the lead on creating it?

Anyone else?

Deposit paid as well, though I may do a double deposit situation and decide between Cincinnati and Richmond.

Hey all, I'm coming to UC Law in the fall from the west coast and am having trouble finding the Facebook page. Is there a link or something? Also, I am in the process of looking for a place or a roommate in NKY, does anyone have any more advice or suggestions besides what's been posted?

See if you can search for University of Cincinnati College of Law - Class of 2015.

There have been posts on there regarding people looking for roommates in NKY. Hope that helps!
