I'm still waiting on a financial aid information as well. I'm thinking about emailing/calling them and asking them what's up

I emailed them with questions yesterday, and I still haven't gotten a response. My suggestion would be call, I guess.

So I called and they refused to tell me a date. I even asked if I could expect it before the the 16th and was told I don't need to worry about the deadline because the deposit is due a week after I get the package. So I guess we will hear when we hear .

Well that sucks to hear. But thanks for letting us know. Saves me the trouble of calling just to be told the same thing.

Well geez, at this point I don' think I should bother sending in the additional financial aid info sheet. I was accepted yesterday and still have to mail in the form (don't have a fax machine) - and try to get a response by the April 16th deadline. Never going to happen - much less trying to negotiate $. No sense in wasting a seat deposit if they'll just drag their heels even more.

They've had my FAFSA and Need Access info for months. I don't see why they need more forms...

That's essentially what I asked in my email, so I guess I'll be getting my answer soon. If we were admitted past the march 15 deadline, what is the new deadline for submitting the application? I still have to send them a few things...

I just called admissions and they said that we'd have about a week after we received our financial aid package to make a decision IF we received our financial aid package AFTER the April 16th deadline. She said if we received it tomorrow, the April 16th deadline would still apply. I did not ask what would happen if we received our package on April 14th, or if we would be at a disadvantage for housing applications, because I was afraid they had caller ID. Then again, they seem pretty attached to their fax machine...

Has anyone deposited and heard back yet confirming their deposit was received? Wondering what the turnaround time is and if the letter is attached in an email or if it's only mailed. Thanks!

How hard/easy is it to get around by car when snow is involved? I wouldn't really mind living 5-10 mi from Cornell, however I am from SoCal so I have never really had to deal with harsh winters or driving in a lot of snow. I do plan on having a car, but am looking for places that are also near a bus route to the school, is local transit there pretty efficient?

Also I have seen a lot of places on Craigslist about places on or close to Cayuga Lake. Any thoughts about these types of areas? Are they too secluded, hard to get to, too far from school?

Lastly, when is most of the good housing gone by? I see a lot of stuff now, but most places want the lease to start in June/July. Is it worth it to pay a couple extra months of rent to snag a good spot, or will there be decent housing options come August when most people start to move back or to Ithaca?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

+1 too.

I emailed financial aid and they were able to tell me when I would receive a financial aid offer (a range of about 3 days). You might mention that you have deadlines at other schools. I had my info within a week of sending the email...

I an just getting a one bedroom close to the school. I personally just did not want a dorm like atmosphere, but the location obviously can't be beat.
