Anyone else going to UT @ UT Law on Friday? If so,

2. Let's meet up!

I'm concerned too - I'm torn between going dressy casual (trouser jeans, nice blouse, heels or maybe a sundress and sweater) or business casual. I'm leaning towards the first because of the type of events - ice cream social to me says dressy jeans and top, not business casual.
Anyone have the gumption to call and ask what we should wear?

So I went shopping today. Wearing jeans and a nice top on Friday with dressy flats....I hope this is okay!
Would anyone want to make plans to get a drink at Cain and Abel's afterwards? Or a MexMart from Trudy's?

Has anybody started looking for housing? I visited last week and loved it! Put my deposit down and started the apartment hunt. I looked in the Hyde Park/ North Campus area and wasn't sure it was a place I wanted to live for three years. I've shifted my search to the downtown area. My commute will be longer, but I want to be happy in my home as well. Unfortunately, I won't be back in Austin until August. Just wondering what other people were thinking.

My husband and I have started to process, too. Looked in Hyde Park yesterday but decided against it. We're thinking about renting a condo or house somewhere around 183, which would give me a 25-30 minute commute, but I don't really mind.cch24 wrote:Has anybody started looking for housing? Yeah. I'm hoping a commute will keep me at school/ in the library until about 7pm, and then I can go home and continue to study or do whatever I need to do.emkay625 wrote:My husband and I have started to process, too. So....I want to negotiate for money, but haven't heard back on scholarships from my two biggest acceptances yet - Georgetown and NU. Both should release info in the next few weeks. I know Dean Ingram said they were going to start looking at the negotiations this week though. Is it better to wait until I have those two offers (which could be nothing) or better to get it in early, while there's still aid? Thoughts anyone?

I'm in the same boat. She said later on in the post about scholarship matching to wait until you had all information for them. May 1st is the "soft" deadline.

Officially joining... so excited!
Any females looking for a roommate??
Further details/questions/clarifications upon PM. I've lived in Austin for 4 years... so I've got an abundance of knowledge as to areas/realty companies/etc.

This week UT should release next year's tuition. I hope that it will either not be raised or go up only very slightly. I base this humble hope on the fact that UH was able to leave tuition alone for next year. If they could do it, UT should be able to do it better. Hell, maybe they'll lower tuition!
