Definitely just went back and reread my essays to make sure they weren't flippant.

Johann : slowly rolling out some scholarship offers.
Ashley Salter ‏ : @tweetsbyjohann much rejoicing among the ranks! Is today a complete rollout?
Johann ‏ : @amariesalter it's going to take a few days. operationally, it's a multistage process. Adobe and our database are not besties today.

Do you guys think he's saying that the scholarship offers will take a few days or is he providing an explanation as to why the loans-only packages aren't coming out today? I'm not sure my nerves can handle multiple days of jumping every time my phone tells me I have an email...

Sounds to me like more scholarship will come on later days. (At least I hope so.)

Ya that's what I thought too. I guess some shot nerves are a small price to pay for a continued shot at some scholly $$

I JUST got the scholarship email.

120,000. I'm convinced that this is all a figment of my imagination. I will check back in once I've confirmed that this is really happening.

Thanks so much!!!

Now I'm convinced they've made a mistake and I missed my chance to call them before the weekend to confirm. I'm 171/3.5, so this is absolutely shocking. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they told me "oooops, sorry, that wasn't meant for you!"

Wow, congratulations everyone! Anyone know if negotiating with NU is possible? Got some money, but definitely not a lot...

Wow, hope for the rest of us, congratulations! Did you go crazy on the essays? I spent a couple weekends on mine, so when I saw the comments, I hoped maybe they did consider those a lot.

Apartment shopping in Chicago: exciting, but 0_o so expensive. So much for living alone.

The benefit of coming from San Francisco is that rent everywhere else seems SO. CHEAP. (Cept apartments near UCLA...)

I wouldn't say I went "crazy" on them. I did put in a good amount of research and was pretty specific about things (which clinics in particular interested me/why/relevant background). I didn't think it was very well-written, but I think that's just me being picky about writing style. But bottom-line, I didn't feel super confident about the essays, but I'm thrilled at how holistic and generous Northwestern has been through the whole process.

FYI, I called financial aid today (under the guise of asking when I can expect the total aid (scholarship+loan) package (but really to ask if they didn't make a typo in my scholarship letter). The guy said he's working on them now and I should expect it this week.

living in the middle of nowhere= less than $300 in rent every month. I keep reminding myself that Chicago is worth it...

You're braver than I am....I was like, "I do not give a single fuck if they typo-ed, they can't take it back if I've already accepted and deposited!!!!!!11"
