Re: Harvard Law Class of 2015
Checking in. My deposit was just received so I guess that's that.
A bit out of the loop on housing (I just haven't had time to go through all the resources). I've put my name in the lottery for both HLS housing and HUH, but not sure what's supposed to happen after this. Is anyone kind enough to give me a 30sec run-down?
Someone mentioned in another forum that a lot of leases get signed in June, but I'm working in Asia and not moving to the U.S. until mid-August, is that going to be a problem?

Re: Harvard Law Class of 2015
Hi everyone,
First, congratulations!
Second, I am a 2L (almost 3L) with a parking space to rent literally directly across from the law school. (1580 Mass Ave.). It is in a private lot. PM me if you are interested!
Also, if anyone can tell me how to find the facebook page for the class of 2015 that would be awesome!
Thanks!

Hey there, I'm a recent admit and I'm definitely attending. I went to BC undergrad so I'm aware of the housing in boston. I spent my junior year abroad and was thus unable to look at places in person, so I found a realtor who was willing to video tape walk-throughs for me and my roommate. We found our place sight-unseen, and while risky, we ended up quite happy. So there are other options available if you're willing to be less conventional.

Hey all, if you're not already in the new Facebook group, I'm happy to add you. Now that the deposit deadline has hit, curious1 is closing the old TLS group for HLS admits and other folks are starting a new one for the entire 2015 class (no need to share your TLS name if you're feeling shy, haha). Lots of chat going on there about housing options, happy hour meetups, Cambridge/Boston logistics, etc. I didn't create the group, but any member can add someone.
If you want to join:
-PM me your full name and a link to your facebook profile
-I'll add you as a friend and let you know who I am
-Once you accept the friend request, I can add you to the group

Actually, the group isn't secret. Here it is:splbagel wrote:Hey all, if you're not already in the new Facebook group, I'm happy to add you. Anyone know if it's recommended to get a Massachusetts state ID once we get there? My driver's license expires next year, so I'm debating whether to renew now or wait until law school

Re: Harvard Law Class of 2015
Current BU 2L-soon-to-be-3L here.
On the off chance that anybody is looking for a place for a 10-12 week period between May 21 and Aug 15, I'll be out of town and am looking to sublet my apartment. Unfortunately, there would not be an option to renew the lease, as I'll be coming back for the next year on the 15th, however if you needed to move to Boston early, we could be a fit.
The apartment is located in Brookline on the "C" line and a solid 2 minute walk to the 66 which goes right to Harvard Square. Rent is about $750/mo. No parking available however.
Send me a PM for details.

Hey everyone! Wanted to post again as the parking spot I have available to rent is still available. It is located in a safe, lit lot directly across the street from the law school (1580 Mass Ave). The lot is plowed by the super of the building. It is a great parking spot for those of you with cars. PM me if you are interested!

In general, are students able to place into their first choice study abroad program (to do coursework that will be applied to the J.D., not the J.D./LLM in Cambridge)? How tough is it to gain HLS approval for outside programs?

Re: Harvard Law Class of 2015
Spot just opened at our all-BU apartment!
The apartment is a very nice 4 bedroom/2 bathroom place located at Coolidge Corner in Brookline, MA. The area is very nice and eclectic, with everything you need within a couple of blocks of the building. The apartment is right by a T stop, and only a 15 minute trip from the law building. As for the rent, it is only $3300 for 4 people ($825 a person), including heat and hot water, which is a real steal for that area! All 3 roommates are incredibly easy-going, friendly and studious first year BU Law students.

Re: Harvard Law Class of 2015
Joint degree student here, class of 2015 but did 1L last year. I have like-new (read but not highlighted/marked) copies of the following available for half whatever the Coop is charging:
* Friedenthal's Civil Procedure 10th edition
* Epstein's Torts 9th edition
* Dukeminier's Property 7th edition
As far as I know, these are all current editions.
Also, if you're in Section 1, I can give you some info on classes/professors. I was in Section 1 last year and had 3 of the same profs as you will have this year (2 in the fall, 1 in the spring).
PM me if you're interested in any of the above.

Re: Harvard Law Class of 2015
Hey I don't go to HLS but one of my professors taught there, and just came here this year, and has zero practice exams here. I'm not sure if this is allowed or not but if it is, it would be extremely helpful to have a look at one of my professor's practice exams, which are probably on the HLS past exam website. Does anyone know if it would be allowed for someone from HLS to send me a copy of one of the past exams?

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but I am transferring to Harvard and I was wondering if there is a facebook group for Class of 2015 that I could join?
Is anyone still looking for housing?

Re: Harvard Law Class of 2015
Hey all,
This is a bit of an odd request but Professor Jane Stapleton is back here at Texas for the first time since 2010; she was teaching at Harvard last semester. Did any of you have her for torts and do you have outlines that you'd be willing to share? We basically have no information on her. Thanks!

^ I'll second the poster above. If any one would had Professor Stapleton and would be willing to give an outline it would be much appreciated!
