Anyone know any good apartment locations near the corner (beside that large grand marc apartments which looks way way overpriced)...I'd rather drive 5 minutes to the law school each morning and be within walking distance to the bars at night and not have to walk 20 min in the dark to apartments closer to the law school after going out (and Im asssuming the corner is where the majority of them are)...Thanks

Most people just get a cab back from the corner. It's relatively cheap, and cabs are plentiful.

and all the weekend cab drivers are fucking great

Also, there will more than likely be times when you're studying on weekend nights (around finals time) and I couldn't imagine trying to do that near the corner. But to each his own.

Hey y'all. In ED from November, decided to retake in December and managed to up the score a few points. I contacted Dean Richard and they offered me $! Guess it's safe to say they really do treat ED/RD the same in scholliez.

Total newbie here....

Thought I would share that I applied on January 6th and got the call from Dean Faulk on January 16th that I had been accepted. Still in disbelief at how fast the turnaround was. I'm sure the fact that I'm a resident and a URM helped, but I also have some pretty killer softs.

Anyway, I look forward to meeting some of you at ASW in March! :D

anyone else thinking about flying out to ASW from the west coast? I'm seeing $1k prices for roundtrip from bay area to CHO...that $400 subsidy would barely make a dent =(

Click the picture of the law grounds that says "Save the Date"

EDIT: You can also click on the link in that RSVP to register to stay with a current law student

Sooooooo who is going to the open house BBQ/going out Thursday night at ASW? I'll be flying from Vegas and trying to decide if I should arrive early or late Thursday. Any current students recommend Thursday?

For the ASW confirmation email, does anyone else have a "?" coming up for the events section?

Are you going to try to double your travel subsidy before you come? I think there are enough people at the BBQ to make it worthwhile

Word is they just distribute the stipend no questions asked. So if your airfare is 200 but you receive a 400 stipend, you net 200 and buy drinks for anyone Friday night.

Have you priced flights out yet? I'm seeing incredibly expensive flights from San Fran area, I can't imagine it's that much cheaper from Mccarran...

Something like ~$580 from Dallas -> Vegas -> BWI -> Dallas. Still haven't figured out the BWI -> Charlottesville thing yet, but am thinking I can probably get on Amtrak or something

Haha....I meant double it in Vegas! Yes, that is how the subsidy works. No receipts or anything. I got mine in the mail last year after like 4 weeks.

Was planning DCA but now that you mentioned it, you're right! It's actually a bit cheaper for me. Sweet deal.
