No hope for summer
I'm officially depressed, I go to a law school in Los Angeles ( huge mistake) anyway, I have applied to 20 internships including clerkships, stuff on campus and nothing. I go to campus events. I'm involved on campus orgs.
I am applying to openings in the bay area, I don't know what to do. Is it because of my gpa, I got 3.30 first semester.
Super depressed, what do I do?

I'm at a T14 with nothing lined up yet for summer. Some places are just now getting into their hiring processes. Keep applying.

20 applications isn't that many. Also, you might have better luck applying in LA.

Yeah, 20 apps is nothing, and it's early for some employers (intern hiring is often not near the top of the priority list).

dont get discouraged. I sent out maybe 100 apps and got denied by 95 and then got 1 paying job. That's all it takes. keep shooting apps.

Are you a 1L?
Edit: Yes, looks like you are. Apply to Public Interest. Bet Tzedek, LAFLA, Christian Legal Aid, Mental Health Services etc...
Even better, start volunteering 2-5 hours a week at public interest clinics. Once you are there, talk to the PI lawyers running the clinics, and ask if they need any clerks for the summer.

Re: No hope for summer
#same. No job yet. Living in/going to school in LA. 1L. Only I am way more doomed (is that proper english) because I finished last semester with like under a 2.5. Ha. And there isn't much hope that I will do any better this semester. so..... just think.. you could be me. I just keep on grinding and sending in apps. Well I only started semi recently because I've been busy w/school and def struggle with multitasking when the tasks are no more enticing then staring at a wall (finals prep + applications). We can do this. If I've already gotten one call back (and neglected to even call back) you will def get some sort of employment. Don't give up hope. No idea why I haven't given up yet... but hey, the mind works in mysterious ways right?
