How much did you study over break?

Zero. I drank away most of what I have already learned from law school.

How much studying have you been doing?

Post by sporkdevil » Thu Jan 07, 2010 11:46 pm

Just a general question. I know some people have been working their resumes, some applications, studying, or smoking away the last of their IQ points. Now that everyone has learned what they think they should be doing early on in the semester, as far as outlines, maybe hitting the E&E's earlier, using some canned briefs, and all that shit.

So, how much studying have you gotten to already?

Zero. I bought my text books and opened the two emails I received from Professors about assignments for the first day of classes. That's the extent of it.

I also have a syllabus for one class and i've done the assigned case reading for the first month or so. hoping to complete reading through mid march before class starts.
Holy shit. Competitive school?

I'm getting some done, but of course, not near as much as I was planning (or as much as you).

Also, you are taking torts in the spring?

If you seriously think you can "study" for a class prior to taking it after your 1st semester of law school you clearly are doing something wrong. I could understand the idea as a 0L, but after a semester not so much.

Not so much difficult concepts, but the outline for the class. I have found one of the tougher parts of the classes has been putting it all together and how the rules all work together. The text books don't really like to do that.

At least that is what I am doing.

But don't worry, I wouldn't recommend you or anyone else studying before class

Gently reviewing last semester and previewing the next. Plan to read GTM on vacation this weekend. Maybe review LEEWS as well.

I've done a little for LRW, but that's it. Last semester I never actually bothered to read any of the cases involved in my major memo, since the class is pass/fail. Since we are using the same set of cases for second semester, I thought it might make sense to catch up with everyone else and actually read the cases, rather than read them for the first time during second semester.

However, I've only read a few cases, and I'm not sure if I have the motivation to do any more.

I'm in lazy mode right now and loving it. I sure as hell can't sleep for 10 hours during school.

I <3 sleep.

I think studying for next semester could be helpful, and I don't seem to be doing it wrong at all.

I've purchased all of my books and supplements, but I haven't actually read anything yet. Resumes and applications have taken far too much of my time. I didn't really prep before 1L, either. I'm hyper-focused during the semester, and I think that works best for me.

Then you have to put down "This poll sucks," because you can't pick both.

Anyways, it is fixed. You can now pick both!
