The 0L Excitement Thread
One day soon we'll all be bitter and disillusioned 1Ls, but today is not that day. This thread is a safe haven for your optimism. Now that you've chosen a law school, what are you most excited about? Whether it be moving to a new city, an interesting aspect of your particular law school, or just the relief of finally finishing your cycle, post those thoughts here.
Then in a year we can come back to this thread and laugh at our naivety.
I'm personally excited to be moving to Philadelphia, and excited to meet my future classmates. On top of that I love academic work, and I'm actually looking forward to the level of detail which will assuredly be required to succeed.
I'll probably come to regret the previous sentence.

The part I think that you'll regret the most, "I love academic work.."

Re: The 0L Excitement Thread
Yeah, I should have phrased that a bit better. What I mean is, it will be fun to be a student again, engaged in interesting work. I've been in the workforce for what seems like forever, and this will be a welcomed change! Yes, I'm overly optimistic, but only in this thread!

I have gone pretty much crazy since finishing up at my last school. Can't wait to get back into the academic grind.

as long as that grunt work involves metaphorically cleaning people's dirty laundry as opposed to litearlly cleaning it i will be 100% satisfied

I've been out of school for a long time too. I'll be working full-time and going to school at night. I'm sure it will be hell, but I am looking forward to learning something new and the career change!

Re: The 0L Excitement Thread
Good thread topic, OP!
At first I was dreading this, but now I am really excited about living in Minneapolis. Everyone I've talked to who has been there loves it; they say the people are friendly and it's progressive and hip.
Also, if I have the opportunity to take it (and still want to) when I'm a 2L or 3L or whatever, I'm excited about the Special Education Clinic offered at my school. My sister has been in the public special education system her whole life, so it's something I could see myself being passionate about.

Re: The 0L Excitement Thread
Im looking forward to not having to work 10 hour days 6 days a week outdoors in the elements- and having to work weekends and holidays ( and poison ivy and outdoor allergies). I have grown to hate my job with a passion the past few years, and Im ready to start a new. Im mostly looking forward to working 8-6 M-F and partially on the weekends during law school ( and the work will all be related to classes ) and if it rains, snows, sleets, hails or is a decent day- it doesnt matter- I wont have to be working in it.
