I haven't sent In my seat deposit yet, but I am pretty sure this is where I will end up! Is anyone else applying for the Rubin-Presser Scholarship?

Re: Temple Class of 2014
Sweet, yea I was there at the open house, I was the guy who asked a ton of questions, and was very impressed. Im still trying to decide between PT and FT, I have both options available. At first I wanted PT, but now the thought of going to school and working at the same time is making me queasy.
Theres a pretty informative Villanova bashing / housing questions answered thread going on here

I went to Temple UG, and live in Philly if you guys have questions.

I will be commuting in from Bucks Co. during the first semester. How much does a parking pass cost? Do you really need one?usmcjag wrote:I went to Temple UG, and live in Philly if you guys have questions.

+1 on commuting. What's better driving in or SEPTA?mt1042 wrote:I will be commuting in from Bucks Co. during the first semester. How much does a parking pass cost? Do you really need one?usmcjag wrote:I went to Temple UG, and live in Philly if you guys have questions.

Re: Temple Class of 2014
Not sure which is better, SEPTA (sub and train) is close to school, but driving is probably faster of you're coming from far away. If you do drive definitely get a pass, parking on street is a shitshow. Not sure how much it costs, but it can't be more than a few hundred for the year.Evrydyhonestliar wrote:+1 on commuting. Edit: Parking is $352 for 4 months

Subway pass is $300 / semester
Train ranges from $330 (zone 1) to $700 (unlimited) per semester

Thanks! I'll probably take the train so I don't have to sit on 76 for like 4 hours a day haha And I can pretend to study!usmcjag wrote:Not sure which is better, SEPTA (sub and train) is close to school, but driving is probably faster of you're coming from far away. I'll be doing the same. I will gladly pay a little more for the ability to sit and study/sleep/zone out rather than get pissed at traffic!Evrydyhonestliar wrote:

There's actually a really good place on broad st. a block south of Beasely, its called the noshery. Nothing fancy, just a really good deli. The owners are Korean, I hear the sushi is excellent too.

any clue how serious Temple takes their threat on acceptance contingent on current GPA? My GPA might take a slight drop this semester.

i highly doubt you have anything to worrry about if it's just a "slight drop"...unless you failed every class this semester i don't think they're going to take your acceptance away

Hey folks. I'm about 90% on board with attending Temple, and that's pretty good considering I was just accepted yesterday. Looking forward to likely meeting everyone in August.

Does anyone know how quickly they are turning around the Rubin-Presser decisions?

Thanks for the response. Did you send an emailing asking about the decisions? I got a confirmation email after I submitted my application but I wanted to make sure that they didn't misplace my application subsequently.

Re: Temple Class of 2014
I'll be living in the city somewhere. I was thinking Old City, CC, or Art Museum. Philly has some odd names; who the heck thought Art Museum would be a good name for a neighborhood?! If I'm going to be in Philly, I want to be in Philly. The suburbs bore me. No offense suburbanites!haleydee wrote:anyone here NOT going to be commuting from outside of philly? i'm going to be looking for a roommate in CC, but i definitely don't want to be the first person to say something on the facebook group...

I've thought this too!
If by tonight someone doesn't post something, i'm just going to be the big guy and go ahead.
We should at least get a conversation going there...

I've been desperately trying to avoid getting a Facebook account; who would have thought that law school would be my demise.classix wrote:haleydee wrote: i definitely don't want to be the first person to say something on the facebook group...
