So June 11 is not the deadline to email Janet with amounts right? Just the deadline to get the MPN's and whatnot done.

I took out the max. You can gauge your spending and adjust accordingly for 2L and 3L loans.
"June 11th is the deadline for submitting loan applications, but should be done as soon as possible. If you have any question regarding this, please contact Janet Cromer."
I assume that means ALL your loan crap needs to be done by June 11th. It only takes about 30 minutes total to complete everything...

I maxed out also. I figure if nothing else, I'll use whatever's left over to study abroad next summer.

I think I am going to take out the max too. I don't want to have to say no to an unpaid job over the summer cuz I cnt afford housing somewhere. Plus if I have any extra I will just use it to pay down the interest.

In an ideal world I will pay off the interest during school, but now I am questioning my ability to. Who plans on making payments during school?

I had the same idea. I plan to make payments towards the interest for non-subsidized loans during school.

For those of you who took out the max: did you receive any scholarships from Wake or are you financing your JD solely with loans?

I received a scholly. Still taking out close to max. Anyone know if you can survive on only Ramen for three years or do I need a vitamin supplement as well?

You'll be fine. I think they VASTLY overbudget for living expenses. Will your wife be working or not?jdemmitt wrote:I received a scholly. Still taking out close to max. Anyone know if you can survive on only Ramen for three years or do I need a vitamin supplement as well?

She is planning on it. I think what we are worried about most is daycare. We still need to find a place, although we are thinking of getting a nanny because we have found some that are about the same price as a daycare facility. TBD

If so, let me know. I have a friend whose fiance is a nanny and is WONDERFUL with kids. I'm not sure if she has room for another client, but I'd be happy to check for you.jdemmitt wrote:She is planning on it. I think what we are worried about most is daycare. Well, it looks like I have finally decided to take the near full ride at WF over some other options. Glad to be joining you guys. Graduating law school from a T1 debt free seemed to good to pass up.

You are paying full sticker at Wake Forest? 38700 Tuition per year with a modest 4% increase would be brutal.wester0 wrote:For those of you who took out the max: did you receive any scholarships from Wake or are you financing your JD solely with loans?

No, I have a decent scholarship. I'm just trying to gauge how much my fellow TLSers are expecting COL to run.

I hear that, I feel like everyone in the class is straight from UG? Did anyone take a year or 2 off between UG and LS?

Yep it will be right at 2 years once school starts this fall. However, it took me 7 years to complete my bachelor's.jdemmitt wrote:I took a year off and nc took some time off too.

I pray that I made the right move by choosing Wake. I am not particularly southern. Does Wake have a real big good ole' boy feeling?NCtoDC wrote:Yep it will be right at 2 years once school starts this fall.
