I for one have my old books and will be selling them to 1Ls once I get back to campus. Assuming versions have not changed and you don't mind a crap load of highlighting, then wait till you get to campus and the 2Ls will sell you their books.

You're awesome, thanks. Quick question: is there like an organized event for this sort of thing, or is it up to the students to find other students to sell to and buy from?

There is a supplement table that is more organized, but I can't remember if that is before or after classes start. Mostly it is the 2Ls spamming the marketplace listserv.

Section B it is... if anyone else is in Section B and knows anything about April ASD and miniature elephants, PM me... If not, then kindly ignore my distasteful use of a public forum to reference an inside joke.

Am in F. Lawyering is section-specific, so use that and the complete fall schedule pdf. to find our your section, if you haven't already.

How does one access the marketplace listserv? And is it a good idea to wait that late to get books, or are we better off getting them ahead of time at relatively inflated prices?

don't rush to be a part of that. you'll be exposed once your c-mail account is activated. and the best thing you'll get out of the listserv, if you're lucky, is an i-clicker. stick to the internets for your books.

Anyone trying to order books online yet? It looks like all of the case books have a pretty new edition. I am really struggling to find inexpensive books. anyone have any tips?

I purchased most of mine through Amazon, with the exception of some casebooks (Amazon's delivery estimate was Aug 24-Sep 7, too late for my preferences). A classmate told me that he was able to buy some used books that were in great condition (like-new) at decent prices from the Kraftees bookstore near campus.

Definitely look at Kraftees for books - their 2nd hand material was in very good condition. Some new books were cheaper too.
I compared Amazon, Kraftees and Half offerings and took a selection from each. Still very pricey though - just hope I can recover a good amount from resale.

You might want to paste the ISBN numbers into google shopping. I did that and a couple books were 10-20 cheaper than amazon at other places (I think one was Valore Books).

I'm actually walking to campus tomorrow to buy my con law book, because I couldn't find anywhere online that would guarantee it shipped within the month for anything equal to or less than the bookstore price. :-/
