Stanford Law 2014
Deferring student here. Glad I took time off, but I'm super excited for next year.
If last year's time table is any indication, the first batch of acceptances for 2011 applicants should be coming out any day now.

Congrats! Would you be willing to share your #'s/softs? If last year's pattern holds for this year, we could hear back as soon as this Friday .EssEllEss2014 wrote:Deferring student here. Glad I took time off, but I'm super excited for next year.

Is this thread only for people committed to attending SLS? I got in on wednesday, and am super excited so I had to post here!

Re: Stanford Law 2014
Does anyone know what the significance is if Stanford invites your application? Are they known to invite only to boost their admission stats and collect revenue or is there a serious likelihood of admittance?
Also, I didn't include a targetted LOR and I find I didn't discuss much about "Why Stanford" in my PS... should I send an addendum letter explaining the "Why Stanford" is my choice?

Excellent (that you got accepted without a targetted PS) and Congratulations. May I ask,--- what were your stats?

Re: Stanford Law 2014
I was accepted as a splitter (very high on the LSAT side, a couple points below GPA) with three targeted LOR and two targeted essays and one very targeted addendum, plus I very nearly stalked Dean Deal.
I hope that helps someone.
I wish there were a fb group to join. Anyone good at that sort of thing want to create one?

Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to TLS and don't spend much time on the forum, but I noticed the thread and wanted to put my name in. I'll be at SLS in the Fall! I assume most of you will be at ASW? If you're going unofficially before then (I am in a couple of weeks), please post here to see if your visit overlaps with any other confirmed classmates.

Congratulations Saxe. May I ask, what your stats were, when you went UR and when you received your acceptance call?

I'm so excited! I just found out today. I guess that first round someone mentioned is actually happening now.

I believe it's April 9-11. Minority preview might be Friday the 8th, though. And yeah, the stipend covers *actual* expenses up to $400 for airfare and $25 for public transportation in the Bay Area.Casey2889 wrote:i'm 99% SLS 2014 as well and pretty excited. is ASW April 8-10? i'm still in UG on east coast so let's hope there's a nice big travel stipend. any admits here also still in UG?
And yeah, I'm still in UG, and also coming from the East Coast.

I'm pretty sure it is $25 each way form the airport, so $450 total See you there!

Who and how do you ask about this travel stipend? Any info would be great.

I'm not 100% certain how all the details work, but as I understand it, you'll mail your receipts to the admissions office after your ASW visit, and then they'll mail you a check.Gaby wrote:Who and how do you ask about this travel stipend? Any info would be great.

Thank you! I guess my question is, who do I notify that I'm doing this to ensure that I actually get the reimbursement?

Re: Stanford Law 2014
Notify? I don't think you need to formally notify anyone ahead of time. I think the admissions folks are expecting nearly all admits to be seeking reimbursement. As to who exactly you'll be sending the receipts to, I have no idea, but I'm sure the admissions office will let us know in plenty of time. You can always stop by the admissions office during ASW to get solid confirmation.Gaby wrote:tgir wrote:I'm not 100% certain how all the details work, but as I understand it, you'll mail your receipts to the admissions office after your ASW visit, and then they'll mail you a check.Gaby wrote:Who and how do you ask about this travel stipend?
