Also, if we don't register, how do we get LASP? I did that at UT UG as well but I'm baffled here.

I know I still managed to get LASP and season tickets my freshman year, so there is a way to do it. We still have to register with the school I think. I think they just tell us exactly what we're registering for. I think I'll email the box office and figure out how this works.

so my financial aid reward in CASH was just revised to total 19,106 a semester. Which adds up to 38,212, which is 9,500 less than the expected cost of attendance for a resident. I haven't received a scholarship notification via email, and it wasn't originally included in my original letter of acceptance i received wednesday after being admitted off the waitlist friday. I've been unable to check snail mail.

Does this sound like a scholarship to you guys? would scholarships show up in CASH? Or am I just screwed and going to have to live under a bridge for the next 3 years?

(double posting this in the accepted/denials/waitlist thread)

That's what happened to my finaid when I was awarded an additional scholarship. So it could be that, but it could be something else.

I'm wondering, though, why they'd award a scholarship this late in the game.

maybe they're trying to make me an offer I can't refuse.
I'll keep my fingers crossed. Did your CASH offer show you scholarships? Or do you know anywhere online that you can see your scholarship offer?

Maybe if you double-deposited and are trying to negotiate still, or if you are URM and just got off the waitlist.

CASH didn't show my scholarships immediately - I got an email telling me about a revision, I looked and saw my award reduced without a scholarship up on CASH yet (though I do believe this info eventually makes its way there - it did for me in UG). That would be the only place online they'd show a scholarship. Probably best just to call finaid and ask, they are pretty straight shooters.

I'm going to be in Austin this weekend. Any TLSers interested in going out for drinks Friday night? Shoot me a PM.

Has anybody been able to get a good look at any of the Hyde Park apartment complexes (specifically Oak Park, Su Casa, Century Square)? I'm going to get one sight unseen and could use any extra information.

I've not been inside of any of those, but I can tell you this: Oak Park looks the nicest out of them. Su Casa is a bit older. Century Square is probably the oldest out of all of them. If any of them are listed as University Realty properties, avoid them entirely.

Whatever you do, don't live in Pecan Walk. Problems with sewage, plumbing, leaks, standing water and a number of other things I'd rather not go into.

Rainier Management sucks...but I guess most landlords here in Austin do.

did anyone not get a "swag bag" or whatever? I got in off the waitlist, so that's probably why, but i was looking forward to free things.

Has anyone heard good things about the Chaparosa Apartments? They're pretty close to campus, which is appealing, but get bad reviews online (although the last review is from at least a year ago). Wondering if I should seriously consider this place?

Hey guys, if anyone can hunt down an outline for Driver's ConLaw class and get it to me, I would be forever grateful.

Big thread bump on this one.

Hi all. Is anyone familiar with Prof. Justin Driver? He'll be a visiting professor at HLS next year and will be teaching 14th Amendment. I'm considering taking his class. Is he well-regarded at UT? Would anyone mind sharing any course evaluations with me? Feel free to PM. Thank you so much!!!

Hi guys,

I'm a student at Cornell. Recently, Professor Gerald Torres started teaching here, and we have had him as our professor for Property. Since it is his first time teaching the material, he has no outlines nor do we know what his curve would look like. We have no idea what his exam would look like. If any of you know any info that could shed some light on these issues, I would be happy to listen.

I just want to know what to expect on his exam primarily. Thank you!
