you should be able to request to join, and then one of the admins accepts your request.

Anyone else waiting to hear on matching? I have to put my deposit in at UVA one week from today; if Berkeley matches, I'm there.

Have you settled on Berkeley? If not then why are you running the FB group?

Because no one requested to run it? I don't have to, just helping.

It is cool. I just think it will be awkward if you decide to stay on the east coast and you still have to run the Berkeley FB group.

I will leave if I come to a decision. There is another admin anyway, I just volunteered because I am usually online all day.

After weeks of trying to rationalize NYC over Boalt, I'm now committed. Feels great to know I'll be in CA for three years!

Have been mainly lurking around these forums over the past two years, but am kinda over the moon to be able to say that I am (99.9%) headed to Boalt next year. A completely unexpected acceptance, and in the end, the decision to attend has really surprised even me. I was very committed for personal reasons to stay in LA, where I currently live, but none of the LA schools' ASWs held a candle to Boalt's IMHO, which I went into quite skeptical and left feeling like I'd found a law school home/fit I wasn't sure was even possible.

Look forward to seeing some of you next year!

Glad ASW punched your ticket . . . there is a lot more where that came from! :D

Ugh, come on admissions office. Three days til I need to know whether you're matching it or not. Don't tell me you don't know the answer at this point.

You could always deposit at the other school if you didn't hear back. If they match, then don't worry about any non-refundable part. If they don't then you had to deposit anyway.

I'm pretty sure I'm coming to Berkeley either way. I just want to wait and make sure I'm not costing myself a scholarship by saying yes too early.

Then spend the $500 and keep trying because the pay off is huge.

I am also an admin of the group and we have no problem accepting new requests. I just felt it would be better if it were a private group for obvious reasons.

You mean accept the school and the scholarship and continue waiting? Does Berkeley continue giving out matching scholarships past the deadline you give them on the match request?

Yup. They told me scholarship decisions are not final until 6/1.

FWIW...I have a Friday deadline as well (UVA) and got an e-mail yesterday afternoon, so I would expect that they'll be in touch with you very soon. Also fwiw, they declined to match :( Really wanted to go to Berkeley, but I can't possibly justify the cost difference. Good luck to you though, and to others attending Boalt this fall.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
