Traditionally acceptance is by mail and rejection is by email. Deferrals I think could come either way any given year.

In the past, the standard has been acceptances by mail in a normalish looking envelope and deferrals by email.

Also: nothing in my mail today either.

I dunno man. I'm kind of skeptical, but maybe I'm wrong? I think we're definitely in the territory where it could literally be any day now. Normally acceptances get received at weeks-end, so it's kinda today/tomorrow or this time next week, right? Then again, this admissions cycle has been very atypical so watch us all get dinged on Sunday at 3am.

Also, just out of curiosity: has anyone else here become radically pessimistic about their chances? I know on a rational level that I'm totally in the ballpark, but for some reason it's started to feel impossible. It's very strange and I don't really know what to make of it.

I'm wondering that, if last year they took a larger incoming class, that means that this year they will take less transfers?

Been following the thread. T3 at least top 5%. To your comments above, I wouldn't say it's been atypical from the last two years, they just closed off the informal (and unintentional) indicators.

Based on their usual course, doesn't seem likely that they'll email acceptances, though they still could. For the first wave, I'm guessing letters are going out today, and those accepted will receive letters tomorrow/next week depending on where they're located. If the first wave of applicants aren't notified next week, then I'd say things are certainly different this year. Regardless, good luck and don't second guess yourself because of the wait. Just a wait. The real issue is going to be filling that attention void we've all created for ourselves

This way you know a full 3 hours in advance whether you've got something interesting in the mail. Haha.

Last year the letters were dated Friday April 27 and received over the weekend.

2017: Backdoor Thursday; letters Friday through the weekend.

2016: Backdoor Wednesday; letters/emails Friday

2015: Backdoor Wednesday; letters Wednesday - Friday

2014: Backdoor Tuesday; letters Friday

Mine also says full time but I think that's been there for a while. Did your "Program Time" just populate on the status checker?

I find it weird that they send acceptances through US Mail. It would be nice if they did a combination of mail and email. I live at my permanent address but I think it's gotta be hard to reach students during the summer when they're not necessarily at their regular address.
