Top Law Schools

For purposes of anonymity, I will not post where I go to school, but it is a T4.

I am not at the top of my class, I am slightly over the average ("top" 48%..yeah, yeah, I know). However, I was a successful write-on candidate to the school's secondary journal (actually opted for secondary journal over law review for personal reasons), and got a fellowship this summer to clerk at Legal Aid. My writing professor and supervising attorney at Legal Aid have written me glowing letters of recommendation that speak to my work ethic and "legal" capabilities. I think that my commitment to the legal profession is very clear, I'm civic-minded, diligent, blah blah. But ad coms care about academics more than anything. My grades are sorely average.

I decided to transfer last minute, my GPA falls into the bottom quartile of the school I intend to transfer into (T1)...do you think I have a shot? Some students that have transferred have told me I should be fine, but I'm nervous. The deadline to submit materials is the 31st (of July) and class starts the 15th of August. Thoughts? Insight? I have so much anxiety.

Don't mean to be a downer, but given the fact that you are an extremely late applicant with average grades, I wouldn't get too hopeful. Who knows though, the transfer market is softer than many think.
