TTTT Chances
Fellow TLSers:
I am a part-time 1L currently in the top 2% of my Tier 4 school. For a whole host of reasons I'd like to consider transferring. What are the chances of getting into a T1 school? I sucked it up on the LSAT and went to a middle-of-the-road undergrad, and I see a lot of top schools say on their sites that they consider UGPA and LSAT score in deciding whether or not to take a transfer. Is there any truth to this?
Thanks for any help.

I had a similar arrival at law school. UGPA 2.4 lsat 160. Went to the absolute bottom law school, performed similarly to you in the full time program. Applied to pretty much everywhere (around 14 schools). In the T1 I was denied BU, I withdrew from BC, waitlisted at W&M, accepted into W&L, admitted to GULC, admitted into Cornell, denied at Fordham, Money at st.johns(tier 2 I think) denied NYU, Columbia withdrew mine because I was unable and did not know I was missing a document.

Re: TTTT Chances
Derive from that what you will, ugpa seems to matter less than lsat. Law school gpa seems to matter most. Any #1 academic awards like CALI or your schools equivalent matter largely as well.

^ That is encouraging! I think I will just apply broadly as I have all my materials together and the worst that can happen is I just stay put.

Very possible. But be sure to do your best to kill it the second semester.

Re: TTTT Chances
test well (or even average) and you can transfer up from the T4. Google 509 reports and check the transfer stats spread sheet on TLS.

(Only read OP)
"top 2%" is likely, what, top 3 people? I would use that stat if you have it, fwiw. You have 100% chance at T1, and a decent chance at a local T14 if there is one. Reach for the stars because you really never know.

If you maintain I'd say you're all but a shoo-in at Gtown.
