Silly mistake

Post by Anonymous User » Fri May 05, 2017 1:05 am

Made a mistake in my transfer ps: e.g. "i'm excited to apply to the Harvard Law" should've taken "the" out. Is this very minor or is it going to impact my app? :(

Actually, you should have capitalized "The." At least put it in italics.

"This person has outstanding credentials, phenomenal 1L grades from a high ranking school, amazing letters of recommendation, a well written personal statement, and would make a strong contribution to Harvard in general."

"Yeah but he said 'the Harvard Law School' in his personal statement."

"oh you're right, let's ding him"

It's just that I'm coming from a TT, applying to the T14. I thought it wouldn't be an auto ding, but I'm in the legal profession where attention to detail is so important, and I thought having a typo like that shows I didn't go through my ps enough. But yea i guess i shouldn't worry too much.

^ see, with a little emphasis in the mind of the reader, that "the" could be appropriate.

If you're at a TT, it's unlikely to make a difference. To get into HLS from a TT, you usually have to be #1 in your class. I doubt they're going to write you off because of a small typo when you're #1 in your class.

Are you first in your class? If so, no, it doesn't matter. Were you last in your class? If so, no, it doesn't matter. lol. If you are applying for transfer to HLS, you must be the former. I hope. :p

Don't worry about it, they would never ding you for that. It's all about your grades and other academics. Good luck.
