full at T14 --> HYS?
Would I be an idiot to leave my full at a lower t-14 for HYS? I'm in the top 10% of my school and it's a bit tempting. I don't love my location or the programs available at my school. I have pretty substantial familial fall back support financially if I did transfer. PI goals. Just wanted to hear some feedback while I mull it over.

I wouldn't. Nobody gives a crap about your law school after you've worked for a bit.Anonymous User wrote:Would I be an idiot to leave my full at a lower t-14 for HYS? Absent circumstances that you haven't mentioned (e.g. you want a moonshot at a 'unicorn job' that's much more achievable out of Yale), yes, that sounds dumb.

What value added would you get from a HYS degree that you wouldn't get from top 10% T14?

Unless you're afraid you won't be able to maintain your grades for the remainder of law school, idk what (substantial) value a HYS adds over T14 + magna cum laude/order of the coif + probable LR. I think this remains true even if you're set on PI.

If you don't care about wasting your family money go ahead.Anonymous User wrote:Would I be an idiot to leave my full at a lower t-14 for HYS? I'm in the top 10% of my school and it's a bit tempting. If you didn't have a full scholarship at your current school, it would still probably not be in your interest to transfer. But with a full ride, it makes even less sense.Anonymous User wrote:Would I be an idiot to leave my full at a lower t-14 for HYS? I'm in the top 10% of my school and it's a bit tempting. OMG no! especially with PI goals. Invest the 100K you would have wasted by transferring into a low cost S&P500 index fund (when you retire you'll thank me).
