How useful are the 509 report to gauge chances?

Post by ballonem » Tue Feb 14, 2017 5:10 pm

Hey everyone,

Planning on firing off a transfer app to ND--currently at a T35 school that isn't a great fit for me.

My question is, what are my chances if my GPA is basically at the 509 report median (ND 50th percentile 1L GPA= 3.4 and my GPA=3.41)?? Does this give me a solid shot of getting in?

Any input would be awesome.....Thanks :)

I have not looked at 509s recently, but if memory serves, they are a little light on details of students who were brought in as transfers (although it does have schools from which transfer students come from).

But if you look at a few years worth of 509s for a school, you can get a feel for a schools appetite for transfer students. But keep in mind that factors will alter from year to year, such as how many students have opted to transfer out, that can change things.

Feel free to PM me... to me they were super predictive. More so than looking at your class rank FWIW.
